Can someone help me? I'm lost and confused about HOJO.

I have heard many things on here about Hojo's and am now trying to plan for another trip to DL but need some more advice on this. We have stayed at fairfield inn and were looking to stay at the best western park place inn (due to location) but, I have heard that we can get a good rate for mentioning Disboards. How does that work? We are not AP holders, so I'm looking for any help on this matter. Do I need to contact the hotel directly or can I get the discount when I book online? Also, what's a good room or area of the property to stay in? And how's the (recent) cleanliness of it? Any advice or opinions would be much appreciated! pirate:princess:princess:princess:

You can get 15% off the going rate by asking for the Disboard rate. You do need to phone the hotel directly and ask to speek to Jennifer or Lorealle (or in-house reservations).

We like the pool view rooms, but many like the disney facing rooms. Many of the disney facing rooms have trees blocking most of the view.
Pool view rooms have 2 queen or 1 king, micro and mini fridge.
Disney facing have the same.
There are also court yard buildings which have 2 over sized doubles or 1 king. They have fridge, but no microwave.
Oh and they are making kid suites, 2 rooms one with king, one with bunks and 2 bathrooms.

You can find a lot of info at hojoanaheim.com and search room types and also on their discussion boards.

Also, make sure you check out the discussion boards on hojo site in regards to the entertainment rate. If they are available for your dates (and keep checking because the dates come and go based on hotel ocupancy) you cna get a room for $59/69/79

When are you going?

Here's the HoJo boards with the info about the Entertainment rate: http://www.hojoanaheim.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14
Currently nothing showing for June, July, August, but that's usual. They will add dates as it gets closer, depending on their capacity. They just added about 6 June dates a week or so ago, it looks like those have already been snapped up.

If you can't get the Ent rate, you can still get the 15% off Disboards rate, by calling the hotel directly at 714-776-6120, 9 am to 5 pm Mon-Fri. Ask for IN HOUSE reservations (the national reservations line isn't nearly so helpful) and Jennifer or Lorealle will help you get the best rate possible. They are really great, very friendly and helpful.

We are going in mid. October. Also do you know where I can find a property map of Hojo? Thanks! pirate:princess:princess:princess:

we loved hojos last oct
i dont know about a property map but there were good photos on the site

We are going in August and they weren't showing the entertainment rate but I told Jennifer we were going for my 40th and she extended the full entertainment rate of $59.00 per nite + tax which sealed it for me...but we love Hojo's we will be in building 1 in a NQQ3 room which is a standard room w/ 2 queen beds and a fridge but no micro. We can't wait we have stayed a couple of times there and it can't be beat especially in customer service they have the best employees we have ever encountered at any of the many Harbor hotel/motels we have stayed in!!! if the entertainment rate isn't available the 15% discount is still a great rate!!!!! Have a great trip!!! :)

Be sure to call. I went through the reservations online via MouseSavers and it LOOKED like it was taking into account the %15 discount but it actually didn't. I called in house reservations and she applied it for me. I saved $138 for the week and the gal who helped me couldn't have been any nicer.

This will be my 3rd stay at HoJos. I travel a lot and rarely stay at the same hotel disregarding any deals. I will stay at the HoJo regardless. It is my favorite hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff is incredibly friendly, the rooms are massive, the grounds are beautiful, it feels very safe, it is clean.....I could go on and on. It makes the trip to DL all the more magical.

Thanks to all who replied! I made my res. and talked to jennifer who was really nice! We are having to stay (possibly) in a room facing the highway. YUK! But hey, all we need is a room for two and were not really there for the room right. LOL Anyway, thanks again for your help! pirate:princess:princess:princess:

I also talked to Jennifer today and made a reservation for 9/8-9/11. She said that she had just gotten off of the phone with another DISer.

I told her that she has received wonderful compliments on these boards and I hope that made her day. She was wonderful to work with.:)

I'm staying there June 22-27 and I'm so EXCITED. :goodvibes I've gone to WDW recently, but I haven't been to DL in 15 years.

Whoever manages the Hojo in Anaheim should feel pretty proud that so many Disneyland experts and fans consider it the place to stay.

FYI - NQQ3 would be in building 3, not in building 1.... Building 1 would be $79 per night as it is the premium rooms.

Building 1 also has some standard rooms ($59 night). I believe they are NK1, freeway facing with 1 king bed, but yes, NQQ3 with 2 double beds would be in bldg. 3 as the above poster mentioned. :-)

They are queens not oversized doubles ;)

Nope just checked the pdf layout, it is building 1 and here is an excerpt from the Hojos discussion boards. According to the PDF pic it is building 1, it is next to the front desk building.

These Standard Rooms are very popular with many of our repeat guests who are looking to save a bit of money on their hotel room so that they can spend a bit more in the Parks! They feature two queen beds, an in-room safe, a small fridge and sleep five people maximum. They are located in our 7-story Tower Building right next to our Front Desk. These rooms face towards the highway.

This building does have elevators and the 7th floor rooms have arched skylights that let lots of light in! All of these rooms have balconies.

They are standard rooms on floors 1 & 2 which we are on floor 2 with a standard NQQ3 room it is the same type room we stayed in 5 years ago!!! oh and were not facing freeway that was put in our reservation, maybe she gave us a better room due to my Bday celebration but it is in my confirmation email from them all the info I posted!!

LOL I wanted the same room we had last time we stayed and with the great $59 rate thats what we are getting building 1 has the game room and store!!;):goodvibes

Jennifer told me the rooms facing Disney are the Premium rooms that go for $79 which these would be in building 1 but on higher floors and the garden pool view rooms go for $69 a nite!! I thought about getting one of those but what do I need a view for gonna be in parks open to close ...lol and the garden view room are in building 2.

Yes, my error......you are absolutely right. :) NQQ3 rooms are standard, 2 queen in bldg. 1. But aren't all the NQQ3 rooms facing the freeway? That's in the description.....So are there some that arent? I've never stayed there as we always stay in bldg. 2 overlooking the garden pool and we love it there. In my first post, I just wanted to clarify for others that there are standard rooms in bldg. 1 ( as you have booked) because there was a reply to your post mentioning that bldg 1 was all premium rooms. I hope you have a wonderful birthday at DLR! :)

Those would be the entertainment card rates and are available on various dates. On page 1 of this thread, Avalon451 has posted the link to the hojo's website and a list of when the entertainment rates are available. :)

It's so nice that you can go for your birthday and that she gave you those great rates! :) I would love to go for my birthday, but it's on Labor Day weekend and we decided to go in Oct. for the Halloween Party instead. How's your weather in Kelso? It's still mostly rainy here. We've had a few nice days, but I'm still waiting for Spring to arrive and stay! :)
