Can someone give me the AKV info rundown?

I mean as far as booking/planning, not purchasing.

I'm planning a trip for May 2009 on VWL points. I'd like to stay in a 1br standard view (NOT value, we need a room that sleeps 5) at AKV. I'd prefer to stay in Kidani Village, mainly because there's a second bathroom in the 1br. Otherwise, we can make do with a room in Jambo House, as long as it sleeps 5. Will this work?

I'm having a tough time figuring out the distribution of rooms- does Jambo House have all the categories that are on the current points chart? (ie. is it possible to get a standard- NOT value- 1br in Jambo House?).

When does Kidani Village open? I've read a few different things, none of them conclusive. Is it even possible that we could get a standard 1br in Kidani Village? Will it be a separate category that I have to book later?

I'm just looking to avoid snags before I get too far into my planning! Thank you for any advice you can offer!

i've been researching AKV this weekend so i think i can help a bit. hopefully someone will correct any misinformation.

value and concierge rooms are unique to jambo. savanna and standard view are at both resorts. you will confirm your building at the time of booking.

opening date of kadani is just listed as early 2009 from all materials i've seen.

i'll be attempting to book a 1 bd room value for next march when the 7 month window opens.

Juliet25 is correct about the room categories. There will be both savanna and standard view in Jambo and Kidani and you will be able to reserve the building as well as the room view. The floor plans are different however, with the Kidani rooms having the extra bath.

Here is a pic of both the sleeper sofa and sleeper chair open at the same time...

the way that building is going up - won't be surprised if later this year - at least up to the main building (front desk, restuarants, etc) - then do the rest next year.

not sure about the pool area being finished too. although with every other resort even when open in section - the pool was finished when they opened - even partially.

the pool at AKL/V is really, really big. looking out the windows it doesn't appear that big - even looking at it directly.

but get in the thing - it is BIG.
