I am new to the site and there are several abreviations and phrases that are commonly used. I am struggling to figure out what some of them mean and I doubt I am the only one with this problem. Could you please post what their definitions are.

For example:
What are "wedding ears"?

Also, do you have any recommendations of other websites that are helpful when planning a Disney Wedding?

Welcome! I don't know too many of the abbreviations. Here are a few that come to mind: DFTW is Disney Fairy Tale Weddings. WP is wedding planner or wedding pavilion, depending on the context. DPS is Disney Photographic Services.

Wedding ears are special Mickey (Minnie) ears that are sold in Disney World. They are white with a veil hanging from the back. They also sell "groom ears" which are like Mickey ears with a (black) top-hat. Some couples wear them to let them know they've just been married or are honeymooning. Some just wear the "just married" buttons you can get from guest relations at Disney. I had considered wearing the wedding/bride ears but didn't end up buying them. There were just too many little kids and other people who obviously weren't brides, when I was down there. We just wore the buttons.

mouseweddings.com is a nice website that has some good pictures and advice. Good luck!

Welcome to the DIS Texas Princess!

This LINK will tell you about some common DIS-board abbreviations.

Wedding Ears are "special" bride and groom Mickey ears that you can get for your Disney wedding or honeymoon (or vow renewal or anniversary).

Have you visited the Disney Wedding Website? That would be the website to visit to get the basic information about Disney weddings.

To be honest, when I was planning my wedding, I searched and searched for different websites for help. I didn't find a better one that this one. Many of the other sites I found had outdated information.

While I still think the DIS is best;) A new site started earlier this year that might give you some other ideas Click here to visit Mouseweddings.

I hope that helps some...read through some of the planning journals and trip reports here to get some input from other Disney brides...ask all the questions you want and good luck planning your Disney wedding!!
