I see on Dizpins tonight that DLR will be "re-releasing" the Secret Mission Mickey pins that were released originally in August at DCA. At that time, these pins carried an LE of 3600 each. Were they not all sold out in August? If so, how is it that they can be re-released? Seems this would in effect increase the edition size. If they were not all sold in August, then is this "re-release" simply the release of the remaining pins from the August issue? Am I missing something? Thanks for any help...

I went back to the Dizpins News Archive for August and during this event people were limited to only 1 pin per person instead of the normal 5 pin per person limit. I find it doubtful that 3600 people participated, which would mean there were leftover pins, and now we're seeing them for sale.

I don't know for certain, but this is my guess.

could they be rack pins????? Just a thought. Sometimes they release special rack pins for an event and dont re release them again til about a month later.

In the case of the event maps at WDW . . . The individual map pins are really rack pins anyway. Only the completion pin is an LE. I don't know if those completion pins every get put on the rack -- if they're not all distributed during the event.

Could this be similar? Are all the Mickey Mission pins marked limited edition?

Thanks for the responses...

Robyn, yes, the pins in this series that Taylor has are all marked "Limited Edition", but as is the case with many DL/DCA pins, the edition size is not indicated on the backs of the pins. I think Hope's guess makes sense......if the pins at the time of their original release were limited to one purchase per person, they likely did have some leftover, and these being made available soon are likely those leftover pins. Thanks again for the replies...

Christy

p.s. to Robyn-- did you get my email on the completer pin?
