Ok so Disney gives you a free room night if you have a certain number of days booked by your guests on property or something right?

What is the number of days to get the free room night?

Like right now, I have someone who has a ressie booked from Wed-Sun, and 3 other families with 3 seperate ressies that are staying from Mon-Sat.

I thought it was a total of 25 nights to get a free room. So this would seem to be a total of 25 right? Or am I not understanding the way it works?

And lastly, how does Disney comp the room? Can you pick anything? Like GF Concierge suite or something crazy or is it just a standard room at GF or something?

Oh and one other thing I almost forgot, If our reception is ending at 11pm on Friday the 6th, we wouldn't even be getting to our resort until after midnight, so would we be booking a room for check-in on the 6th or the 7th? Obviously we need a place to sleep, so my guess would be that we'd have to book for the 6th since I think normally our rooms might not even be ready until 3pm on the 7th, correct?

I know that at 25 nights I was given my free room, so I'm pretty sure from listening to the Disney Weddings podcast that that is standard.

You can pick the hotel, and which night you want to use it for, but you're just guranteed a room, not a category. So, for example, you picked the Grand Floridian, you could get a standard view, the honeymoon suite, or anything inbetween, but you wouldn't know until you checked in. You also don't have to use it the night of your wedding, we are just because dessert party ends at 9, but lots of brides have used it the last night of their stay just so they just have to check in- check out once.

To answer your other question you will need to checkin the 6th cause you have the room from midnight till 11am.

Ok, so if we get the free room night, how does it work with booking? Getting married on the 6th and leaving for our cruise on the 8th. So should I book from the 6th to the 8th, or do I just book from the 6th to the 7th and telll our planner to make sure they have a room for us or what? Right now Im booked from the 6th to the 8th, so with the free night do they just refund the money for the one night? I actually have to cancel the ressie and book a different resort so thats why Im asking. Should I rebook only the 6th and 7th or the 8th as well and then expect a refund?

When I booked my free nights (I had 2 from some promotion they had) I had my planner's assistant do it. She asked me what nights I wanted and she emailed me with the reservation number and who's name it was under.

The free night is booked by your sales consultant as a separate reservation. If you are paying to stay at the same resort before/after the free night, the hotel can link your reservations so that you won't have to change rooms for the free night.

When did you hear this? I did my room block for my escape wedding and I still had it.

Just last week. Me and DBF's family have booked a significant number of nights at the Beach Club and I asked if they could sort out the complimentary night. The came back and said they stopped doing it as of last summer and no longer offer any discounts either.

So doesthat mean if I book a poly theme park view that they will give me free theme park view room as my free night so I don't have to switch rooms? Earlier someone said it was random and you wouldnt know until check in. Kinda confused now...??

I'm not sure what the "official" rules are, but for us, our room block coordinator booked it and linked the reservations. We were staying in the GF RPC, and I asked to stay in the same room the whole time, it wasn't a problem at all. If we had chosen to move, it would have been to one of the Honeymoon rooms in the Main Building, which fall under the same category as what we had booked.

We got Beach Club concierge for our 2 free nights. I was surprised because online when I would pull up the reservation it showed Beach Club standard view. I think unless you link it to a previous reservation like Pezaddict stated above it's really just luck of the draw.

We got lucky and concierge was very nice on our wedding night to have some beer and wine and dessert after the reception. It's ruined me to all other room categories lol.

We signed our Escape contract in September and our room block in November and still had both the room discount and free night after 25 room nights in our contract. I would probably go back and ask again.

No, the official rules are you are guaranteed a standard room. Usually you get a concierge room, but there's no guarantee. Sometimes if you get lucky they will link your free nite to your other nights and let you stay in the same room category as the one you are paying for on the free night too. But if there is no availability in that category on the free night, you have to either move to the free standard room or stay in a standard room the whole time (if you don't want to move).
