Hi,
So, I will be traveling on the Magic with my family, 2 adults and 2 kids in a stateroom, and my sister and her husband in another stateroom. We were attempting to book rooms near to each other but I noticed when I enter in my family count of 2 adults, 2 kids it shows no rooms available "mid ship" but when she enters in her family count of just 2 adults it shows rooms are available "mid ship". These are both for the deluxe Oceanview rooms. What gives? Do they not want kids "mid ship"?

It could be that the muster stations (lifeboats) in that area only have 2 spots open. If the kid's clubs fill up then it won't allow any more bookings with children, but that would be ship-wide and not for specific locations.

Probably has to do with lifeboat space onboard. Or, maybe the number of kids already booked. There is a finite number of kids allowed to book (maximum number in each kid's club level). Once the max number is reached, no more kids in those levels are allowed to book.

If you can find a 2A/2C room forward or aft, it's more likely the lifeboat situation.

As Disney has more bed space than lifeboat space, once the total number of bodies booked in an area for a spcific lifeboat has reached the maximum number for the lifeboat assigned, they will accept no more people in those areas. And they start limiting how many people can be booked into the remaining open rooms.

Some of those rooms only sleep 3, no bunk pull down from the ceiling. That's why they are not showing up for you.
Ah, I see. I just entered in 2 adults and 1 child and now it shows mid ship available. So glad I asked!
