Is it a reservation that you have to pay for and get charged if you don't come? What type of restaurants do you need this at? Is it just really popular or expensive places or any sit-down restaurant. I know I want to eat at cinderella's round table at MK for dinner but do I need PS for this or can I just show up?

A PS is similar to a reservation. What it does is suppose to get you the next available table when you check in. They don't charge for PS and it is reccommended that you make them for the sit restaurants. I would make a few, it's easy to change or cancel. :firefight

It recommends on some websites to do this 90 days in advance. My trip is less than 60 days away. Oh dear....

And anyhow, I know we made one for Fantasmic Dinner Package. Apparently they do charge you if you don't cancel in 48 hours. Is this just for the Fantasmic dinner? What if I make a PS for Cinderella's Table at MK for dinner say hypothetically at 5PM but we aren't hungry and we dont' find out until that day and want to eat at 6 instead?

And how much of a wait are we talking about here? More than 1 hour? Do they give you a pager :) We are going 3rd week in May... and may be at some parks during extra evening magic hour night.

Basically the restaurants have two lines. One is for people with Priority Seating Reservations and one for everyone else (EE).

People who have a PS and arrive at or just around their reservation time will be seated in the order of arrival (based, of course, on the size of the party and available tables). When there is nobody in the PS line then the restaurant will take people from the EE line. The only exception to this is for about the first 3/4 hour after a restaurant opens; then they will normally not seat people from the EE line if it appears they will be fully booked byPSs within the first hours.

I have been in line at some restaurants where they have said they had so many PSs that they would not even have a standby line that day.

Yes, you can call from your room and make PSs, but if you really want to go to a certain place, you should make it ahead of time. Some people make them the day of, but I perfer ahead of time. That way I get the times I want at my favorite restaurants.
