I am quite confused about this photo pass thing, can someone explain to me in detail as to what its used for. I would like to know where you get the passes (Photographers themselves, City Hall etc), how much is it to get a pass and a picture taken, where you pick up your pictures, and what pictures can you get with photopass. I know you can go to photographers infront of the castle etc. But can you take it to places such as the splash mountain photography place just outside the ride after you get off the ride and give them the card to swipe?

PhotoPass is a free service offered within both parks at the Disneyland Resort. Basically, with any "professional" photographer in either park, you can put all your pictures onto one card rather than getting a large collection of papers with numbers on them.

there are a few character locations which usually offer photographer services (Mickey at his house in Toon town, Princesses at Fantasy Faire, Ariel at ther location, Pooh Bear in Critter Country, and occasionally when the characters are not in advertised locations), and several "Photo Spot" areas (i.e. The Train Station on Main Street, the castle, New Orleans Square, among others).

At the end of your day (or your trip, whichever you'd prefer), you can then view all the pictures you've had taken and scanned onto that one card all at once. OR you can wait until you get home and view them online and purchase them from there. It's basically free, until you decide to purchase something.

We always get photo's on our photopass and get the professional to do a photo in the same spot with our camera too! When you look at your photo's online you can add borders, character signatures and other Disney icons to them before you purchase them - time consuming but lots of fun!

I'm not sure of the exact prices but I think they are similar to what you would pay for a ride photo.

Does anyone know a way to capture the photopass pictures on your hard drive? I am buying a few, now that we're at home and going through the photos we took as well - but I just hate to see them all vanish...:confused3

Thanks for the help!

We used photopass at WDW and loved it! We were at Disneyland last October but they didn't have photopass! Are you saying it is now available? Oh I hope so 'cause it is soooo convenient!!!

I love Photo Pass! When I got home, I looked at them all and you can add little touches from the selections. It's a great way instead of buying them at the park and having them get mangled in your suitcases!!! They keep them online for 30 days, I believe.

We just returned, and I was disappointed with the number of photographers. We had many photos taken, just not in a lot of different spots. By the Mickey flowers, Castle (day only, couldn't find them at night), and Astro Orbitors at night. Over in DCA, we found them only at the entrance taking them with a few different backgrounds. Never over by the pier or GRR as I had read. I had also hoped for IASW in DL and more nightshots. We did get some with Winnie the Pooh, but they weren't with Mickey in Toon Town or anywhere else there. I saw them with a few other characters but we didn't wait in line for those. I haven't activated my pictures yet since I don't want to start the 30 day clock yet in case I find a friend to share with. I think it's a terrific system, they just need more photographers out there. We were told they were all sent home from DCA on Friday because of the rain. Crowds were light, but people were still there.
