can someone explain exactly what all these codes are?

I am new to the forum and will not be booking a vacation for a few years. Sounds like there are some great deals out there, but how do you get them exactly? I am also not familiar with terms such as CRO and such. Could someone take a quick moment to walk me through this process of discount rates? Thanks a bunch!

I'm still confused after reading here a year.

I *think* I've figured out that CRO is Central Reservation Office (or something along those lines).

Please see the stickies up top about pins and FAQ. From what I understand, if a deal is featured on the DIS's deal page or another site like mousesavers, it's legitimate for everyone to use.

Individuals also get special codes/pins (not sure what the different terms refer to) in the mail that are good for THEM only. Not sure but I'm getting the idea that these are mailed to RETURNING guests.
