Can someone explain banking deadlines...

I'm a little confused. I just agreed to a small contract through resale at OKW, the contract will not close till december. I am getting all 2005 points and my use year is August. Is there a time limit on how long I have to bank my points? I will most likely want my points to be banked for a trip in August of 2006 and by then have my 2006 points already. But I wont be able to do anything until the middle of December at the soonest. Will I not be able to get all my points banked to next year?

If you want to bank all of your points, you have to do it by the end of the following January. So you would need to call MS before they close on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 to bank all the 2005 use year points. Then they will be good for trips between August 1, 2006 and July 31, 2007. If you don't use them before July 31, 2007, they will expire and be lost to you.

Sounds like you will have plenty of time to bank. Hope your contract passes ROFR - let us know, OK?

You can have the seller bank the points now, if you'd feel more secure. The broker should be able to get it done and get you confirmation of it.
