Can someone explain about calling to see if you have a pin?

I know people say they call to see if they have a pin, but how does that work? Does Disney give people discounts secretly and you only know if you call?!!

Sort of... they send out secret "Pin codes" to select people either via snail mail or email. However, some peoples get lost in cyber space. So, if you call to make reservations, ask if there is a pin under your name, because it may have been "lost". You'd be surprised by how many people never see a pin code, but have one attached to their name at Disney.

Pins can be Free Dining, percentage off room only, or a different package (we had kids stay play and EAT free one year).
