Can someone explain a typical school calendar for UK?

DD18's boyfriend lives in England. I'm considering asking him if he'd like to join us on our Mediterranean cruise next June, but I'm wondering if the UK is typically out of school at that time?

Depends on the district he lives in. In Staffordshire pupils are due back after half term on Monday 4th June and finish for the summer on Friday 20th July. So in Staffordshire (i would think most of the country actually) the answer would be no.

There are regional variations but many schools are be off for a week at end of May beginning of June. They then go back to school before the summer break which usually starts third week of July.

In Scotland, the schools close for the summer holidays at the end of June and return usually by the third week in August.

schools start in september with holidays in october, december, feb, march/april, may and finish in july

colleges start later in september....dont always have mid term holidays, but finish earlier for xmas, easter and summer

He is 18 and in college. He lives in Brighton, but I'm not sure where his school is.
