During evening emh at Epcot are the country pavilions open ? If the answer is yes are offsite guests able to shop and taste during that time?
I keep finding different answers to both questions.

The pavilions are open. Offsite guests are only prohibited from getting on rides and attractions during evening EMH at any park - they're welcome to shop and dine.

Thank you....is this info found anywhere on the website ? I ask because we tried to make a dining ressie for after Illuminations and the agent told me we couldn't since we were not onsite. I don't want to cancel our current res only to find out that we cant use the later one

I don't know from experience, but I would say that the agent was correct.

Grrrrr....this is what I mean by different answers. I know I can book the later dinner on the website, and on here I keep reading things like yes you can , but then the agent tells me we can't. Right now we have Monsieur Pauls at 6pm but I can book 9:15pm after Illuminations
Irish, what are you basing that the agent was correct on?
Gosh ....now I know how the OP in the emh MK thread feels except that I am doing my research, and still am getting conflicting info...siskaren are you certain about your info ?

When you say agent are you referring to a travel agent or a cast member that you called directly? I would call the Disney dining reservations number (407) 939-1947 .. If you ask them directly I am sure you will get your answer..

I based my answer on the fact that EMH are for onsite guests, so if you're not staying onsite you shouldn't be able to make a reservation, just like you can't go on any rides. But, if you can make the reservation on the website, I'd go ahead and make it and assume it's not a problem.

That's who I spoke with when I called. Because I had a conflicting ressie I needed to cancel before we booked the new time.

My concern is we get to MP's for dinner and they say oops nope ! Wouldn't make me happy....lol !

My answer is maybe. If you feel that you have a chance of being turned away at 9:15 why risk it??? JMHO.

The restaurant will not check your resort status when you dine.

I don't recall dining during EMH, but we had several ADRs at the parks and were frequently asked which resort we were staying at. Why would that be?

They generally always ask that at check-in at every table service restaurant at any time of day,
but it has nothing to do with resort status for EMH privileges.

As stated by pp, the general rule has always been that off-site guests CAN remain inside the park and both shop AND dine, they just cannot enter any attractions or rides. The CM on the phone most likely stated this as technically EMH is intended for resort guests only, however, the CM should have not made you cancel the reservation as it should still be honored.

I've had at least 3 onsite trips with avg 8 table service meals per trip and don't recall ever being asked what resort I'm in. Do you know why they would ever ask this question?

If you can make the reservation, you won't be turned away.

Does anyone who stays in the park during EMH but isn't staying on property feel the least bit guilty about it?

Well that's why I called to ask ...not because I felt guilty but rather because Im trying to sort out whether it is or isn't allowed acc'd to Disney. It isn't that big of a deal for us...we have an earlier reservation and mp's has loads of various times available that night but really it shouldn't be difficult to get an answer. What I'm concerned about is that the answer I got from one cm appears to differ from the majority on here. This is why Im going to email for an answer and hope I get a clear response from someone in the know at Disney

You will get an answer from "Disney."
It may or may not have any bearing on the ACTUAL answer to your question.

No, I am not kidding.

Don't get me wrong -- it's a given that Disney will let you stay in the parks and spend money even if you're not a resort guest... but I'm just wondering if there's a psychological price that goes along with that.
