For example, I am trying to get a 4 bedroom at Westgate Town Center for July 22-29, 2006 (7 nights). According to the auction right now it is available for $22 - lets say I win it for $100. I see that the auction states that the 4 bedroom is $15 extra per night + the $32 taxes/fees per night + seasonal surchage of $75/per night + one time $15 processing fee. My question is am I paying the per night amount upfront or am I buying just the winning bid + the processing fee + $32 taxes/fees for one night - and then pay Westgate once I set my dates? Again if the auction is won at $100 I have a total price of $969. Will I pay $969 upfront, when I give my dates, etc.

Thanks a bunch - because I'm really confused!!!!

Westgate is treated by Skyauction as a hotel.

so the bid is treated as a hotel and yes if you bid $100 then that is a nightly charge.

So don't!!!

if you want Westgate (and I would not) - go find my other post about it being $29 per night.

the timeshares are the ones who say 7 nights (not 1-7 nights these are hotels) - they have a one time charge of $195 + $15 - then you bid is in addtion to one time charges.

hotels (1 - 7 (or 14) nights) have an extra charge per night of $32.

don't bid of them.

The $29 price requires a timeshare presentation - and its a studio - I'm trying to avoid that. The auction on skyauction.com does say 1-10 nights. No timeshare presentation is mentioned and what do you mean hotel - it says a 3 or 4 bedroom in either Westgate Lakes, Villas, or Town Center. The $15 per night is the upgrade price for the 4 bedroom. What hotel has 4 bedrooms Am I missing something? I thought you stay on the resort campus.

if you win auction at 100$ and do all your upgrades and seasonal charges the total cost per night will be 100 + 32 + 75 + 15 = 222$ per night times 7 = 1554$

then to that you add your one time 15$ processing fee

the only variable above that will change is the "bid"

not as good a value as the ready set go, home & away and regular 7 night resort auctions

I never even knew Westgate had 4 bedrooms are they doing a 3 bedroom lock off and then you will have a anothe 1 bedroom somewhere else :confused3 For that amount of money you all would probably want to look into a nice pool home.

So the bid price is a per night price as well as all the fees and upgrades per nights? And what is the ready set go - I've seen that but didn't understand. Can you explain that? Thanks.

for the auctions you were referring to in the first instance .....it was as posted.....the 100$ bid would turn into approximately 225$ a night

Ready Set Go auctions allow you to win an auction now and not use it until you are ready to, however there is a "expiration date to use it",,,,right now you have to use it by 6/30/2006

they go in the bid range of 50$ to which you add the taxes, service charge and processing fee of 210$ which means you can get anything in the Ready Set Go inventory for a week for the price of 260$ ...no other fees unless the resort you choose has resort fees ( not many do )

with ready set go, you can even "hold" a unit you might be interested in before the auction, thus if you win the auction you will probably get what you want.....

ready set go's are a good way of experiencing timeshares without the expense of ownership ( but the offering on skyauction has changed a bit in the last couple of years as perhaps owners complain about the cheap accomodation that people are getting on skyauction when they have a fair amount of $$$ tied up in their timeshares )

$969 is a lot for a condo for a week on skyauction. IMHO you would definitely be better off renting a pool home and it would be cheaper. Check some out just to compare at this website before you make your decision http://www.floridavacations.com/

There are other sites as well but this is where I found ours and it has a lot to offer.

We rented a 7 bedroom 7 bathroom pool home last summer for less than $300 night (which was one of the more expensives houses listed) and that included cleaning service. It was in Emerald Island which was very close to Disney.

If anyone in your party is a local, state, or federal government employee, you could get two 2 bedroom villas for a lot less. They are only $264 per week for each villa - so two would only be $528. We just stayed in a 2 bed, 2 bath, full kitchen -- it was nice having all the extra room (we were 4 adults).
