I was going to have my mom check my final english paper, but i waited to long and she is now asleep. I know the introduction is very short i have to think up another sentence which has not happend so far. My brain is a little stumpped tonight lol. well here is my paper, revise away :)

Three things I learned this year are, appreciation for the writing of Shakespeare, learning to speak up and present in class, and appreciation for different types of literature.
This year I learned to have an appreciation for Shakespeare. If I was not in this class I would have never learned all of the different literary devices that Shakespeare used in his writing. The one piece that he wrote that we really focused on was “Romeo and Juliet” If I would have read “Romeo and Juliet” outside of class and did not know what the literary devices were, I don’t think I would have seen what a masterpiece Shakespeare truly wrote. It is amazing to think that one man could have put so many devices in his writing. It is so interesting to see what type of literary devices he gave to each person depending on their rank in society. If I had not taken this class I would not have known why he used different devices in different places and for what reasons he chose to do so.
In this class there were many times where we had to speak about a topic or present a topic in class. Before this year I was very shy, and it was very difficult for me to speak in front of a class or a group of students. Having to present so many presentations really helped me overcome my fear of public speaking. I learned to speak up without having to say um, like, and other nerve racking words that I would often say when I was very nervous. Speaking up in class also helped me to really get involved in the class and helped me remember things about that topic much more then I would if I was not participating. I think the one thing I enjoyed presenting this year was the literary magazine for “A Separate Peace.” My group and I had worked so hard on that project that I was to proud of it to be nervous. I think that my literary magazine presentation was one of the first times I had not been really nervous to present in class. There were also times when we had to say things about a book in class discussions, and really getting involved in that helped me to remember more about the book. Overall I think speaking up in class is a very important part of class, it really helps you to remember all that you learned.
Throughout this entire year I was taught appreciation for literature. We read so many different types of books this year each one had a different meaning and a different way in which you had to think about it. I learned that with each time I would reread a passage in one of the different books I would learn something new that I had never noticed before. Now that we really got to study all these different books of literature I think that literature is always going to be an unsolved puzzle. There is always something new to see and learn each and every time you even read one sentence of a literature book over and over. Now that I have read books like “Brave New World” and “A Separate Peace” I will be able to have an intelligent conversation with my peers about different things that I saw in a book that maybe they missed. It was very interesting to see how many different interpretations there were about the same passages. It is so cool to see how many different things you can learn from literature. Literature truly is such a wonderful thing to have. It is something of great knowledge and wonder that you really have to use your mind to figure out.
All types of Literature are important to society from “Romeo and Juliet” to “A Separate Peace.” Literature provides a well rounded reading experience. It helps you to understand literary devices and the deeper meaning that is between the words of literature itself. It is not only the reading experience that you receive it is also discussing the literature that is important. Discussing literature also allows you to see new things within the book. Literature is and always will be an important part of a well rounded education in and outside of school.

sorry if this is in the wrong place, i did not know where to put it! also thank you to anybody who can check it :)

tomorrow is my last day of school! woot! I have a 1 test on "Julius Ceasar", "Brave New World", and "A Seperate Peace." So if anybody is bored and wants to test me on any of these (especially Julius Ceasar) it would be highly appreciated! :cheer2:

I'd say that's really good! Titles of novels I've been taught to underline, I don't know if your teacher has taught you to do that. I never really saw why it mattered so much, though. Also, maybe when you start to say um and uh, you could put quotations, so the reader knows you are giving an example of what you did, rather than just breaking into another topic using um and uh. Did that make any sense? lol. I've read A Seperate Peace at the beginning of the year, but don't remember too much of it. Otherwise I'd test ya, lol.

Grammar is just invisible to me i never see it lol! :teeth: nvm i see the questionable stuff lol i think i may be blind :rotfl2:

Ok, these are ONLY suggestions. Honestly. I'm a stickler for correcting papers (hence Education major), but I don't know your teacher, the class or how anything is graded, but wanted to give my two cents. I'll bold anywhere something was changed/added, maybe an explination as to why I did it.

Three things I learned this year are: an appreciation for the writing of Shakespeare, learning to speak up and present in class, and an appreciation for different types of literature.
While in this class, I have acquired an appreciation for Shakespeare. If I was not in this class I would have never learned all of the different literary devices that Shakespeare used in his writing. *Now that we really got to study all these different books of literature I think that literature is always going to be an unsolved puzzle.--- Ok, this needs to be reworded, but I'm not sure how. I'd suggest something along the lines of- Studying these different books in depth, I believe literature will always remain an unsolved puzzle.

The only other suggestion I have is that the word literature appears a lot. Almost too much, as it is almost every sentence. Trying finding another word, or re-writing the sentence to take it out.

It's a great paper and I'm sure you'll do great on it.

WOW thank you so much! i cant believe i did not catch some of those mistakes.

No problem. Until I hit sophomore english with THE hardest english teacher in my school district, I hated writing papers, let alone revising. It took me three re-writes of my term paper for her to accept it (a lot of simple mistakes), but when I did hand it in, I got 100%. First time she ever gave anything over a 95. She changed my life, and now I love reading papers, anyone's, and tweaking them for word-choice and stuff. But yours is really good, the only corrections I would make for certain are the punctuation and underlining.

Thank you again. Lets just say grammer and spelling has always been invisible to me. I have no idea why, I think i got it from my dad. LOL! :teeth:
