Can room requests still be faxed directly to the resort prior to your trip?

In the past we faxed specific room requests and celebration information to our resort directly a few days prior to our trip. Is this still in practice? If so, where can the resort fax numbers be obtained. Thanks :)

You should just call reservations and have your requests noted in your reservation. No need to fax. Most faxes are ignored.

Word is this got out of hand and is now frowned upon.

We have NEVER had a room request made at the time of our reservation (directly with Disney travel by the way, always, since we book room only AP discounts, only) honored at check in since they stopped taking FAXes at the resorts. Never. I give up with special room requests made in advance.

I think Disney's so full these days they couldn't begin to honor everyone's preferences so they just ignore most of them unless there's some special need.

We've had luck the last two years only with asking at check in for the cast member to see if she can reassign us to what we want.

This is good to know , I hope I get my request for ground floor due to my father's back problems.

We're staying at the Polynesian and I called in a couple weeks ago to "request" the Tahiti long house third floor and the gal that spoke with me said, "no problem, just realize this is a request and it can't be set in stone. Upon check-in, just make sure you ask again, to see if it's available, but this request is noted with your reservation." I'm hoping this will work out! If not, I'm sure we'll love it either way! I can't wait!
