Can "Paper" MYW Passes Be Exchanged for Plastic?

Hi,
We purchased our MYW passes from Ticketmania and they are the paper style. (technically I believe they're mylar).
Anyway, I'd like to know if we can have them switched to the plastic MYW passes, and if so, where can this be done?

Thanks,
-Mark

I have wondered the same thing. When we were down in May, they got wet and sticky on Splash mountain. The credit card are much better! I hope someone comes in to this thread that knows!

Great Question Mark!

Many tickets, like AP's can only be purchased at the parks, not the resorts. The only place you can get the plastic tickets is at the resorts. You would have to go to a resort with your ticket and ask them if they can exchange it at the guest services counter at a resort. Good Luck. I am always disappointed that I am spending all that money on an AP and it has to be paper. They expect me to keep that piece of paper in good condition all year, with all the use it gets? It always stops working part way through the year and I end up having to get it reissued any way.

The mylar passes are how all passes are now distributed.

The only "credit card" style cards in use at WDW are "Keys to the World" which are the room keys you are issued when you stay at a Disney resort (exception:pre-purchase hard ticket events like MNSSHP also have hard cards).

You can put your ticketmania tickets on your room key if you are staying at a Disney resort, but there are no "credit card" style straight-up admission media anymore.

Hope this helps! We don't even get them for AP's, hehe. ;)

Bummer :(
Thanks. Thats good to know now.
It just seems like it would be wise to make them on the card style to eliminate all the Disney goers that have to get their tickets reissued after using it after two trips or whatever it may be.

Hopefully, they will changet that in the future. In the meantime, I guess I need to invest in one of those platsic Fast Pass / Ticket holders!. :)

The AP's are the mylar type and hold up quite well. I have been to the parks 70 times this year and the passes look as good as new.

WOW, 70 times! u r one lucky person!
The kids must love u!
LOL

One of the benefits of living close to the parks is I can go quite often. I found it was cheaper to move here instead of visiting all the times.

No, I don't think you can.

The only place you can exchange or upgrade tickets is at a ticket window or Guest Relations window outside the 4 theme parks, and I am pretty sure that they only have the paper type ticket media at those locations.

But it never hurts to ask.

In the past, you could have hoppers that you bought elsewhere coded onto your room key if you were staying at a Disney resort, but they discontinued that practice; you can now only code tickets onto your room key if you bought them as part of a package or if you buy them at check-in.

If you are worried about your paper tickets getting wet or damaged, go to the jewelry section at WalMart, look on the rack with wallets and wallet accessories, and buy some of these for $0.97

They're convenient, conmfy, and keep your passes safe and dry all day.

This is no longer true. I had my tickets that I purchased from Ticketmania put on my room kep at Pop, and then when we switched to SSR, I had them put on that room key. This was at the end of August.

I asked if I could get our tickets put on our KTTW cards when we were at Pop in April and they said no.

Supposedly once the new MYW pass system was put into place it was fixed so any MYW ticket can now be added to the room key. I have heard many verified reports that people have been able to do it. However, not every CM may know how to do so. If it's really that big of a deal, ask for a supervisior.

I just received my MYW 'plastic credit card type' tickets in the mail. DW works for GM and I bought them from them.

My guess would be that you had purchased tickets at the Florida resident prices. Resorts can now put MOST tickets onto the room key. The exceptions are FL resident, hard ticket events (MVMCP, MNSSHP, etc), and some convention and international sales only tickets cannot be put on there.
