Can our friends join us?

Just found out some friends will be at WDW the same time we'll be there. We are staying at a Disney resort & on the DDP. They are not staying Disney (so no DDP.) What are our chances of them joining us for one of our TS ADR's? Do they just take their chances with a walk up? I know we can break apart for the time we'll be at our TS but exploring all our options.

You usually won't be able to just show up with 6 or 8 people when your ADR is for 4 people or show up with 4 people when the ADR is for 2. Very very rare for the restaurants to be able to accomodate that sort of change. Try to change your ADR's for the correct amount of people or have your friends try to make their own ADR's for a similar time at the same restaurant. If they can't get ADR's for the same time, it's for a reason.

Although it's entirely possible that your larger party may be accommodated on your original ADR, you may have to wait longer or it is possible the extra persons will not be admitted at all. A great deal might depend on how many people you plan on adding to your reservation. The dining plan is not relevant; if you do manage to get a meal together, the check will be split between the dining plan guests and the non-dining-plan guests.

Just make the ADR for the total # and when you get there tell the waiter who is on DDP and who is OOP

duh! thanks everyone--guess my brain is on overload as we leave for our trip in a week (not to mention all the end of school & kids misc activities!) Thanks for talking me thru this. Think we'll just plan to spend the day together at the park, take a break for our ADR's and re-group. Much easier at this point!
