Can Other Guests in Party Make Payments?

I've booked a trip next year on Galactic Starcruiser. It's 8 of us going and are a mix of friends and family splitting the bill.

Everybody appears to be successfully linked in MDE, but when other members of the group have tried to make payments there the system has rejected it saying that their cards "couldn't be processed."
I tested going back in and doing a $20 payment myself and that one worked OK.

Is there something I'm missing here that I should be doing? Are other guests allowed to make payments toward the reservation or not?
Any advice or help appreciated!

We’ve had to call in the past. They will take payments over the phone, it was not the most convenient method!

I think online, they only take payments from the reservation lead. You can however call in payments

Can they just pay you and you pay as the lead? I think that would be easier than hours on hold to make payments.
