Can one person pick up the keys for everyone at the resort?

Will my husband be able to pick up mine and the children's keys at the resort without us being present?

I was going to have him check in while I tended to the children so we wouldn't have to take them to the lobby, then back in the car to drive closer to our room.

Thanks!

I believe everyone has to be present at check in to check in- good luck!!

Yes, unless your on the Dining program. If its room only or room with tickets one person can check in for the party. If you have a package with dining then everyone must be present to check in and get your room keys and dining credits.

With a little humor... define "present?" :)

I ask because when we check in, the wife usually takes care of things since the ressie is in her name. The kids and I usually find trouble elsewhere in the lobby. They never asked if everyone is present and/or never asked to see us directly.

We're not on the dining plan at all. No tickets either. Just room only. So, hopefully this won't be an issue for us.

Thanks!

If you are room only you'll be fine. I always check in while dh deals with the kids and luggage.

When we checked into WL last time, it was just me. DW and DDs were by TV in the lobby. We had dining plan too. I don't think they care.

If it's room only then don't worry, I check in for our family by myself all the time since I make all the ressies in my name:thumbsup2

This is exactly what we've experienced upon check in at the All Star Resorts. Daughter heads over to watch TV & hubby stands (opposite the counter) where she's in his line of site.

I did like your humorous "present" comment. Upon airline check-in, when asked if a stranger or anyone unknown to you has asked you to carry something, I've often smiled & replied, "Well, my husband is stranger than some, he he's known to me."

I've always checked in for my entire party. In July, the "party" included DH, DD#1, DD#2 and two friends. We had 2 rooms at PC and were on DDP. I was able to check in for all members of the party and for both rooms. I received the keys in two packets--one for each room.

Both times we've had a package, w/o dining though, never had anyone wanted to see all of us. I check in because I make the ressies.

I recheched back in sunday to start the dinning plan and was solo... let hubby and the kids asleep.. I did not need all of us there....

Was anyone else in the crazy line at POR sunday morning? I know I saw 1 dis'er... I got there at 7:15 and waited an hour... by the time I was doen the line was goign down the hall to boatwrights.

We always do the dining plan and I am the only one who checks us in. Everybody else hangs out in the lobby and I have never been asked where everybody else it.

Maybe its only the free dining then? The only time I coudn't check in for the entire family was when we had the dining but the only time we have had the dining plan was during the free promo.

Either way OP is all set :)

No, not everyone has to be present. However, if you are checking in and have reserved 2 (or more?) rooms, you have to have someone from each room there to check-in...which makes absolutely NO SENSE, :confused3 but that's something different altogether....

We were at Disney in the beginning of August. We had 4 rooms, packages with free dining and I was able to check everyone in without anyone else having to be present and received all the cards! We were at POFQ. Sometimes I just think it's what CM you get!!

We've checked in at multiple resorts, once with free dining, many times with the dining plan. I'm the one that makes reservations, but sometimes my husband checks us in (people give him upgrades at random and we like that:cool1: ). Sometimes I'm not with him. I don't think we've ever checked in with all of us. Last year there was a big deal with Disney printing on the confirmations : All members of your party must be present when checking in. I can tell you, my confirm said that last September during free dining, and my DH and baby went to one hotel to check us in while we were still at another. No problem!
