Can one person be listed on two reservations to get a DP?

One person in our room would like the dining plan. Can we list them on another persons room so just they can get the dining plan? Would we have to buy them new tickets (already purchased tickets individually but could save them I guess).

I'd list them as a completely different person on the second reservation. They'll get to magic bands; one for each room. Otherwise, they'll have trouble using one band while being listed on two rooms.

Also remember that credits are pooled across the reservation. So the one person will have access to all dining credits. They'll need to make sure they don't use more than their fair share.

Thanks! It's all family so I'm pretty sure they would not use more than their share, lol, I guess you never know though. :P
Now, I wonder if I would have to get him new tickets too. The other room already has a package where we have a room only but I bought tickets already.

Everyone on the package reservation must have the same options. Tickets are required if you have a "free" dining promotion. Otherwise, you can book a room+dining by calling Disney on the phone to book it.

But a fingerless package wouldn't work in this situation. The person who wants the DO without tickets would have to book a separate package.

Uh, that should be ticketless - not fingerless. Bawooosh you, autocorrect!

The amount of confusion this would cause is just beyond anything I'd want to deal with.

I have heard of people putting a person in their room in order to get the dining plan, but the person slept in the other room. The person wasn't listed as being in both rooms, just the one. I'm not sure how they worked out the room key problem. I know they had connecting rooms so maybe it wasn't a problem.

The problem you are going to have is if you are dealing with packages including tickets. It'll work if the room where the person will sleep is a room-only reservation and the room they will just be registered in is a package. This is apparently complicated because the OP has already purchased tickets for this person. There's no way to get him a dining plan on a package with tickets without getting him the tickets with the package too.

I think the only way to solve it is to change the second room to a ticketless package, and have them all buy tickets separately.

Thanks guys! I'll have to think about it and determine if it is worth either buying extra tickets (hold on to them for later use) or change the other room. More than likely I'll leave the other room registration alone because availability is so limited that week and if something went wrong and I messed up their reservation it would be terrible. Certainly not worth it for this.

Since you are already set up, I would leave well enough alone. Our family has two rooms, with two different discounts, and two different dining plans. But we don't have anyone listed more than one time. It's the ticket and package thing that I think would be your issue.
