Our local news (birmingham) did a story on trip to Disney World and they reported that offsite guests could buy Magic Bands for $15.00. Anyone heard of this?:confused3

I'm sure it's possible...on eBay or something. But Disney isn't selling them...yet.

Currently, there would be no need to have extra bands. Most people that have been part of the "test group" are tripping over the darn things. They only link to MDE/ My Magic+ for onsite guests and, soon, Annual Pass holders. The Magic Bands are only "ID Tags" that connect to your profile. If your profile allows access you will be getting more than enough of these things.

This might be the plan for offsite guests, at a later date, but who knows at this point. There was some rumbling about $50.00 replacement fee.

Now if you want them for a kids NFC/raspberry pi science project have at it. Remember that they have a battery and will stop transmitting; active functionality will be off. Ebay has them starting at .99, and full sets at 100. Don't get burned.
