My 6 year old surprised me by asking if he can dress in his Buzz Lightyear Costume when we go to Disney. I was thrilled that he's so enthusiastic and really getting into it. He's not usually a "joiner" or willing to put himself out there. Is this allowed at Disney? I know little girls dress in Princess attirecorrect? B his is a hooded costume. Would he look silly and be picked on? :guilty:

I don't think he would be out of place at all....I don't know if I would wear it everyday...maybe just to DHS where you can meet Buzz. You don't say when you are going, but remember it can be very hot, especially with a long sleeved costume:firefight . You might pack a pair of shorts, just in case.

Absolutly!! There was time when my kids woul have totally worn their Buzz constume into the parks. There are all kind of Pirates, princesses, Captain Hooks, Buzz or Woody would most cetainly fit in!!:goodvibes

If its warm out, which is probably will be, you should make sure he wears cloths underneith if the wants to shed his space suit! ;)

I'm sure he would just wear it that one day at DHS. We're going in April. You're right about the heat. We'll plan accordingly.

Absolutely! Just bring cool clothes in case he gets too hot and then....to infinity and beyond:cool2:

My son dressed as Woody when we went to Epcot and DHS. It was great- he got so much attention from everyone- CMs, other characters, etc. CMs came up to him and wanted his autograph! You see so many girls dressed up, but not many boys- it was a great experience for him. And the best part was when he met Woody- those are some of the best pictures we got on our trip!

BTW- it was 90 degrees that day and he refused to take the costume off!

To infinity- and beyond!

Of course he can! My son dressed up as Peter Pan and got a lot of cute comments :)

But the Buzz costume (at least the one from DisneyShopping/Disney Store) is made of a very plastic- type material that is just sweltering in the heat. It's one piece, so there isn't really any air flow. My son was sweaty in it on Halloween evening, and that was in CT.
Just to let you know.

My ds will be 18 months when we go in November and I just purchasesd a Buzz costume for him from disneyshopping for jsut 9.99! He has no idea who Buzz is but I always dress up my dd4 when we go. It makes the trip so special and they all just look so adorable!

Those stories are great!!! now I'm really looking forward to it. And we hav ea spare Woody costume so maybe I can get my nephew who is also going to dress up along with Jack. Jack's costume is made of a very lightweight fabric thankfully. We also live in CT and he was rather chilly in it last year even with pants and a turtleneck under it.

The Buzz costume we had/have was made of nylon/spandex. It wasn't plastic.. very soft and breathable, but warm!
