We have a trip planned in November. On our first night, my sister would like to come to us at the resort. Can she do that? What about parking her car?

THanks

We've had guests visit us at AKV. They gave our name at the booth, showed their picture ID and I think they got a temp. parking permit. They spent the evening with us watching animals and eating at Jiko's.

you can have visitors no problem :)

go for a walk, watch the animals, have a meal etc.. just can't go swimming :)

If you can, list them on your reservation. That way they can use the pool, get a parking pass, etc.

Not a problem. My brother lives in Florida and visits us at BCV. He tells the guard he is visiting his brother, my name, and shows the guard an id. Guards have always been nice and allow him in with no problems.

Thanks so much for the responses.. here are more questions....

1. How do I list them on my reservation to let them get a parking pass and swim?

2. They are willing to leave us their car for a couple nights so we can run some errands. How would I go about getting a parking pass so we can leave the car in the lot?

Thanks!

Just call or email MS and add them. The only complications would be if this put you over the occupancy or if you were doing the DDP. You can get a parking pass regardless, you'll get it on check in. If it's not in your packet, just ask.

We have added a friend when we checked in with no problem. We told the CM that we had a local friend that would be visiiting us off and on over several days and they added her to our reservation, and then she was listed on the sheet for the guard shack. She also got a parking pass, etc.

Mine & DH's parents live near by and come to visit. We either add them to the reservation or they get a guest pass when they get to the security gate. It has never been a problem.

Does someone need a parking pass for AKL if they are staying at CBR? My sister is staying at CBR during the same time we are staying at AKL and she wants to come check out the hotel and the view.

With the CBR pass, it's not a problem, but the guard will probably want to see picture ID.

Just a thought...if you are adding the dining plan...all people on the reservation need to have the dining plan for your entire length of stay

1. temporary permits is only good for 3 hours... security does go around and check... therefore, when you check in tell them you will have a car for a few days... that it will be dropped off. Get the license plate # before hand and you will be given a parking pass for the duration of your stay.

2. You need room keys to access the pool area as it is like going into the parks or your hotel room from what I gather

3. Unless you're name is on the room reservation, you ca not use the pool. This is at every DVC/resort though... not just AKL.

Why can't they swim? How do they monitor that?
They can ask management for permission, it would not be reasonable to just go and hope one didn't get caught.
