My girl is 10, so obvs we have to buy an adult DDP for her. She's picky. And most places don't have anything she'll care about on their regular menu. Of course, we plan to encourage her to try new things, BUT can she use her adult TS credit for a child's TS meal? I'm sure this answer is in one of those Sticky threads up top, but have you seen how long those threads are?

TIA!
jenn :)

Yes, she can, but you're paying a lot of money for that kid's meal. Another option is to pay OOP for that $10 kid's meal and save her adult credits for all of you to enjoy another TS or maybe a signature meal.

Ooh, I didn't think of that. You can do that? Suddenly I have SO MANY OPTIONS! :cool1:

Yes, you can. Make sure you tell the server when you order which meals you are paying for with dining credits and which you will be using a different method of payment.

I am having the same problem x2 since neither of my DD will make full use of the food on the adult plans although that is the plan they would have to take. But my travel agent at AAA told me I cannot use their TS credits for my husband and myself(we plan to eat at at least 3 signatures and thus need more than our allotted credits - so we planned to use theirs and just pay OOP at hotel CS for them those nights). So am I misunderstanding something, or was I given incorrect info? Can my DH and I use our DD TS credits? If we can't, then I don't think the DDP is going to work for us this time around...:confused3

Yes you can use your children's TS credits.

I believe your AAA rep is incorrect. if you have 4 people paying adult rates (anyone aged 10+ is an adult at WDW) and you are staying 5 nights, you have a total of 20 sit down meals on the regular DDP. you are free to use them any way you want. if your kids want to eat from the kids menu for one meal, you can pay for them yourself, leaving 18 credits. if they do that twice, you have 16 meal credits left. those extra meal credits can be for you and your DH to eat a sig meal.
the meal credits are assigned to the entire party, not a specific person!

We have always upgraded our 3 boy to the adult plan so that we CAN use their credits and pay oop when they wanted a kids meal, leaving us to be able to use the spare credits for signature meals :)

We have done this the past 3years and its worked great!
My twins usually share a TS meal and the oldest will eat an adult meal, so every day that left one TS credit over!
If the boys joined us at a sig meal then we always pay oop for the kids meal as they prefer it,
Hope this helps you see that its done all the time x

All of this is so good to know. I was actually just coming to ask the same exact question about my 10 year old son.

Thanks

One note to those who are looking at this. If you are PAYING for the DDP and then paying again for those kids' meals, you may want to do the math to see if this is really the most cost effective way to go. Paying everything OOP may be cheaper.
