My DH has been using Just for Men, but it is VERY expensive! Can men use women's hair coloring?

If you have used it with success, please let me know which brand.

Thanks - Diane

No. It will make their hair too silky and pretty.

Just kidding. I don't know why they couldn't. We're all people.

Don't know the brand (don't know as it matters), but DH's father used to use the leftovers of my MIL's color -- they looked like twins! :lmao:

Yes, men can use "ladies" hair color.

Yes men can use the same hair colors that women use. Brand doesnt matter just find a shade thats similar to the mens stuff he is already using.

Did they use a really bad red color because if they did we saw them at the zoo on Sunday :lmao:.

It's a well known fact that hair coloring manufactured for females only sets on hair on an XX chromosome host. So no, men cannot use said hair dye. When you go to purchase dye, ask the salesperson for the XY compatible stuff. ;)

HA! He can use the hair dye -- but he will now have to use the women's restroom until it wears off.

In all seriousness, why does he dye his hair? I think men have such an advantage in that gray hair generally looks great on them. Men are allowed to age gracefully, women just get old. I think he should embrace his natural hair, and save the money.

dh will buy the cheapest womens hair color and use it to cover his gray. Much cheaper than mens colors.:lmao:

He also has to start using women's Nair for hair removal, instead of shaving. Or, if he still insists on shaving, he has to use women's pink razors.

No, no, no - he has to wax. Especially that sensitive area right under the chin.

It's all the same ingredients. That being said only my gay guy friends in college would go for that option. But at 19 your hair can be totally unnatural.

But it must be an ego thing to use Just for Men. My father buys his in bulk at BJ's.

He might start searching the Vera Bradley site for sales, but it shouldn't cause a problem :)

The only differences between hair coloring marketed to men & hair coloring marketed to women:

The packaging is different.

There are far more color choices with "womens'" hair dye.

"Mens'" hair dye costs more & has less in the container that "womens'" hair dye.

So...basically, with "mens'" hair dye, you're paying more for less product but with a picture of a handsome dude on the box instead of a pretty lady :lmao:

Women's dyes probably have prettier names for the shades like: honey wheat. Meanwhile the men's dyes probably have names like: saddle leather brown. :p
