Can member services modify separate bookings into one?

This may be super confusing so I am going to try and ask as best I can.
Lets say I want to book a reservation for 10 days
So....

At 11 months I book the 10 nights full at my home resort (OKW).
Then at 6 months before the trip, I decide that I want to split this stay between two resorts and AKV pops open the last 5 nights of my trip.

IF I have enough points, and I see this AKV open for the dates Im looking for, can I book the 5 nights I see online, call member services and have them cancel the last 5 nights of the initial OKW reservation and then have only the two reservations?

I guess what im asking is if I can book 2 reservations online with my points for the same days and then call member services to combine/delete days to each to make one full reservation?

Yes, you can do what you are thinking.
Since you will be at two different resorts you will have two different reservation numbers. They will not be under one reservation.

MS can drop nights from the front or back of any reservation. What they can't really do is drop nights in the middle unless there is availability to completely cancel and rebook. So in your scenario yes, you could book the AKV online and then call MS to drop the last days you originally booked at OKW. There isn't anything to do with merging or combing etc. It's simply cancelling those last days at OKW.

I am absolutely NOT looking to do this lol....BUT... your response made me think of another question! Sorry!! So if I had 7 nights booked at OKW and wanted to drop 3 days in the middle, go to AKV(book these separately online if they became available), then go back to OKW for the remaining 2, they couldn't do that? And then it be under 3 different reservation numbers?

Correct, 3 separate reservations.

If the reservations are at separate resorts then they will have to remain separate reservations.

MS can "merge" two consecutive reservations if they are made by the same member at the same resort in the same room category. The merged reservations will show under one reservation number. However, if anything about the reservations is different, they have to remain separate reservations under separate reservation numbers.

You can drop nights from your OKW so you can stay at AKV instead but you can't merge the OKW reservation with the AKV reservation.

Where did this information come from? I've heard that they can split a reservation into two parts. If they can do that, then they can split it and drop days from the front or back of one of the splits.

I believe there was only that short period of time where they split reservations and that they won't do that any more. But yes, if you got them to split it then they could drop days in the middle.

You can drop nights at the beginning or end of the reservation, but not in the middle. You'd have to cancel the nights in the middle and at either the beginning or end. Then rebook the ones at the beginning or end if they are still available.

Geez, I've thought of a lot of different scenarios, but the idea of going from one resort to another and then BACK to the first on a 7-day trip...

I think what you would do in this case (assuming you had enough points) would be:
(1) book the three days at AKV (res #2) ,
(2) cancel the LAST 5 days of your OKW reservation O.Res #1)
(3) re-book the final two days at OKW (res #3)

You couldn't link ANY of the reservations, because of your hopping back and forth between resorts.

But again, what scenario would prompt you to want to do this? :confused3

ahhhh no scenario!! it would be crazy!! Im just trying to see how they do things lol!! Sorry for the confusion!!

If I were alone I may, but it's a lot of work
