Can magic band be preloaded with cash for resort purchases

we are only staying onsite one night, but plan on meals/snacks while we're there. At check in can I load the bands with cash, or do they need to be paid at checkout.
Just thought this would be a good budgeter for the teens on our trip.

I'm pretty sure I tried to do this and they made me pay at checkout. You could tell your kids their limit and they could track it on their phones or in a notebook? That's more true to life anyway.

No.
Nothing is loaded onto the band.
The band is linked to MDE.
A credit card can be linked to MDE.
You can use the band to charge items back to your room reservation.
You could go to the front desk to pay the charges off with cash as long as you don't reach the charging limit prior to doing so as they will charge the card on file at that point.

No. You can not put money/credit card funds on your account in advance. They don't allow a credit balance on your room account

As said, you can't pre-load the band, but... what we did on our last trip was use the band to charge stuff to the room and then pay it off at the concierge desk every couple of days. We kept cash in the safe in our room and never had a charge on our credit card.

For a one night trip I would just give each teen a gift card and advise them to use it well. When we go we use my card to guarantee the charges and for several years I have authorized my DGD band for charging back to the room. Every few days she paid her bill. I would not bother with this if we were only there overnight.
