Does anybody know if left over MYW days (not old park hoppers) can be upgraged to AP?
If so, how to they calculate the prorated amount?
I'm just plaing with spreadsheets for fun, but here is why I ask...
Lets say you were buying 5 day expiring hopping MYW tickets.
Well... for $11.71 you could upgrade from 5 to 10 days. Your final ticket price will be $247.08 or 24.71 per day. Now you use your first 5 days and then use the 5 unsued days valued at $123.55 that you actually only paid $11.71 for towards an AP voucher to use for later trips.
I'm pretty good at figuring the loop holes in thing (especially when it comes to being cheap) but I'm sure someone at Disney is better at closing them before they are even open to the public.
I would think there's no way. I'd say 1) they can't be upgraded, 2) they calculate them on how much you paid for days 6 through 10 (vs. 1/2 the cost) or 3) you can upgrade to an AP but it has to be an active ticket, not a voucher.
It would only work for someone who 1) was going on a short trip and 2) knew they were going to buy an AP for future visits BUT those trips are far enough away to not justify the APs for this trip and 3) had enough money to invest in all of those tickets (10 day MYWs and APs -the prorated amts.) for everyone. For a family of four it would be a savings of over $400 on their APs.
