Can Kids Share Buffet Dinner?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this one. Can my kids "split" a buffet meal? DD just turned 3 and she eats like a bird. She can eat off of my plate (actually she prefers that LOL). I just hate to spend the money for Ohana's dinner when she won't eat anything but some potatos and maybe a sliver of meat. Any replies appreciated.

Although I can't say 100% I am pretty sure that since your daughter is 3 (I am basing this according to the meal plan as this is how I am assuming Disney does their dining rules) she cannot share your meal. If she was under three she could share a buffet or family style (such as Ohana's), or if it was not a buffet type meal then she could have shared (anyone can share an a la carte meal). I know it seems like a waste to pay the full child price when she eats so little but I think this is also why so many parents were upset about the child buffet age being lowered to 9 with children ten and up paying full adult price. Hope this helps.

She can eat off your plate, but you will most likely be charged for a child's meal.

At O'hanas they used to have a childs menu. I know I had my kids there and they chose hot dogs. It was much cheaper than the all you can eat menu. That may be an option.

They had to draw the line somewhere, and unfortunately you're on the other side of the line, so you should expect to be charged the child rate for your three year old, and consider yourself very lucky if they generously comp you.

Actually they dont have (or at least they didnt when we have dined there) a child's menu, however they will get your child a childs meal from the Kona Cafe. This has all the regular kid stuff, hot dogs, mac & cheese, chicken fingers, etc... Depending on your server, you may be charged the full all you can eat price, or just the kids meal price from the Kona Cafe.

I do feel your pain. My DS who is now 5 eats nothing. We have paid full price at Chef Mickeys for him to eat marshmallows out of 1 bowl of cereal. Ouch!

It's funny, when I asked if I could order something from Kona they acted as though I was crazy and said no, that they have their own children's menu.

we ate at "Ohana last month, my 5yo had 2 pieces of potato and a piece of steak about an 1/8" and we were still charged the full children's price.

Ah! Maybe they have their own menu since the menu changed. We have dined there in 12/3 (we had to ask for an alternate meal then), and again in 7/04 (they verbally gave us a list of offerings for kids, without us asking). We havent been back since the change. I'd have a hard time going back without that rice. ;)
