A fanny pack is the most logical solution for all the small things you need like tickets, fast passes, money and camera. My wife says theres no way im wearing one, but is it really that bad and out of place to wear one at DL? :confused3

Why not? If you want to wear one, wear one. The odds of you seeing anyone you know one random day at the DLR are very unlikely. As far as everyone else... who cares what they think. I don't... My friend goes to the park in drag!

As far as fanny packs are concerned... I personally think they look ridiculous and I would never wear one... but that's just me. I use a small single strap backpack. It works quite well. It provides all the room I need and I don't have to sacrifice my dignity to use it.

I know this post seems a little vain, but the fanny pack was never that cool.

The British people are dying right now reading this thread :rotfl:

They are not stylish or cool, and personally I think they tend to be slightly less practical them some other bags since you will have to take them off for many rides. But if you like that style of bag go for it, you will not be the only one wearing a bum bag.

Count the Aussies in too! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I always have a snicker at "Fanny Pack"!

You can wear one, but also consider a smaller messenger/sling bag, which come in many man styles.

Just wear it :wizard:. Disneyland is one of the few places where it's OK to wear awful tourist garb, without looking ridiculous. You are guaranteed to see someone wearing or using something worse than a fanny pack princess:.

Why couldn't you wear one? Practical. Easy. Hands free. Trust me, you will not be the only one. If it's what works best for you, wear it.

P.S. fairycat and kylieh: hahahahahaha!

Dh found a small Black Back Pack at Walmart it has a top handle and an across the chest strap that he tightens to wear at his side like a bum bag. It
carrys all the manly stuff he needs. It is about 8 inchs tall, 5 inchs across and 3 inchs deep. He found it in the back pack section of the store.

My DH swears by his fanny pack on vacations.....I just pretend not to know him! :rotfl: (JK) His is actually a nice leather one that has put on the miles....he wouldn't travel without it.

Exactly. I have a Tinkerbell fanny pack and DH has a Mickey Mouse fanny pack. They are practical, we use them all the time. Even when not at Disney.

I like to have the pack at my waist instead of a back pack. A back pack is more of a pain in the butt to me. I don't like the weight of anything on my shoulders.

of course you can, I have before I got a huge gut LOL have fun and yes, wear the pack, there great!

Of course - that is all i use when we go to DL then i dont have to worry about 'watching' or leaving my purse - it carries all i need in it. And as said before you will NOT be the only one wearing one. They are quite sensible.

I have been worried about the whole bag issue for our upcoming trip. When we went to WDW three years ago I wore a fanny pack for 6 days in the parks and it was perfect. I NEVER had to remove it to go on any ride. I have been trying out lots of bags, backpacks, etc. (I even bought a Baggalini Messenger because it was so popular here) but nothing is as comfortable for my back as the fanny pack was. I will probably end up doing the fanny pack at Disneyland because it is truly the best option for me.

While I think they are not very stylish, AT ALL, I will admit that I used one when we took the Girl Scouts to Sea World last year. I wore it around the front though, does that make it any less awful, lol!?

With my family though we usually keep a backpack & a stroller so I skip the fanny pack!

It's funny I'm reading this right now. I saw a lady walking downtown the other day that I would guess is a tourist here. She was beautiful & dressed very cute, BUT-she had on a hot pink fanny pack. I think the color is what caught my eye the most, lol. I couldn't help but think that she needed to lose it, lol.

WOWWW! i can NOT believe how many people dont like them and are too worried about "style" instead of practicality! im 21 years old, and i wear one all the time at parks! infact i was looking for a new one at walmart for our 6 flags trip this past weekend and they didnt have them! i LOVE them and i dont think someone looks stupid wearing them at all and i dont think everyone should be so worried about style. and for a guy, i think a man would look better wearing a fanny pack, than carrying a little purse looking mini backpack with one strap, which, again, looks like a purse bag! it just seems very vain anyways! arent you there to have fun! why would you care about a bag you use, just make sure you are dressed how you want to dress, or makeups done, what ever makes you feel good, but a bag? who cares! it carries stuff well! its quite practical! and ive never had to take it off for more than i think 2 of the rides at DLR i believe? dont know about GCA im sure more, but still. you have to take your "mini" backpack (purse:lmao:) off too. by the way, im not out of style, look at my picture for those in doubt. i see nothing wrong with practicality though!

I want my husband to wear a fanny pack. I found one that is sporty looking but didn't buy it as I knew my husband would not wear it. I asked him about wearing one and of course he said no way. He said they are dorky.

Why is it that I'm the one who has to carry a backpack? I don't mind though I found a small one from a store called Mountain Equipment Coop.

Anyways, I think for Disneyland it would be great. Who cares what a person looks like. It's comfort and convenience that is important right? I'm wearing Maryjane crocs to Disneyland and I'm not a croc wearer normally. So why can't he wear a fanny pack for the trip?

Wear one if it makes things easier for you. Fore go the fashion wrong doing and think about convenience.

No I wear a small one. My friend wore a camelback fanny pack. Say that 3x fast!

I don't know anyone in the parks. Not a soul. So yeah, I wear one. I keep my Disneyland passes, fast passes, small amount of cash, credit card, driver's license, room key, cell phone, camera, spare battery in it. It is very lightweight. I don't have a wallet, I use a little plastic card holder (flips open and has a card slot on each side) to put the Disneyland passes and credit card, cash, etc,

Having just lost 9-10 pounds and knowing the HUGE diff. that that makes for me personally, in terms of energy and speed of walking, I'd think it would be hard to load up on a heavy bag to take into the parks, knowing it could slow me down and tire me out faster.

Speaking of getting tired out - I also like to rest my hands on the front of the pouch when standing in line. It's more relaxing.

I LOVE that I can quickly feel around on the front of the pouch for my credit cards, etc. and also like that everything is right in front of me.

I say, go ahead, geek out, and geek out happily. :woohoo:

Just remember to take it off for the photopass pics. ;)

What rides are you thinking that you would have to take it off for? I used to wear one (in the front) and never had to take it off.

Now here is the real question: Where does everyone wear their fanny pack?

On the actually fanny? On the hip? Or do you wear it in front?
