Can I Vent? (Sorry, a little long)

Thanks again for all the kind words!!
Well, I made it through the day(and Im still speaking to MIL, LOL!). In the end, I got all worked up over nothing. We had a couple fans which really did help some. On top of that, we didnt have nearly as many people as I expected. MIL had given me a bunch of maybes that might come. I assumed all these people would be coming, but a good amount didnt. After most of the guests left, DH's immediate family and my immediate family all stayed and we went swimming. And Ill have to say, even as hot as it was, it never felt like it was 105 like I had heard this morning.
So, we survived, it turned out to be a nice day, heat and all, and now we can concentrate on our trip...but first its off to get some rest. Something about being up at 4:30 to prepare food and clean house really knocks you out!

One final thought on why MIL asked you..............

Could it be because she trusted you to get the job done right. Remember it was her husband that died and she would want everything to go smooth. Maybe you should be glad she trusted you to make a difficult time easier to get through. Does not make it right that she told you that you were doing it. Somtimes stress causes some people to say things the wrong way.

Hopefully your upcoming trip will help your fwamily through these sad times.

Actually, it was her ex-husband!!! LOL!
I think the reason I got drafted was because we live the closest to the funeral home(1/2 hour away). Shes also the type of person who thinks nothing of imposing on people. I think a nearby restaurant would have been much more conventient, easier on DH & I(the rest of the family did nothing), and COLD!!! It just made more sense, but she wouldnt listen to reason.
