Can I vent about clothing???

----------------------

My problem is the opposite - very, very long - very, very skinny legs.. The petite sizes aren't "huge" on me, but they're waaaay to short! :headache:

Me too.
I'm between a women's 4 and 6 (count me in as someone who lost quite some weight and now I'm in no man's land) and the short jeans look like capri's on me. I've had to get long jeans a few times before, and I'm only 5'3!

I HATE the new "tunic/flowy top" thing. They only look good on stick thin ladies with no chest, no stomach, and no hips. I may be small but I have a thick (meaning width) stomach. It's flat but thick - I can't wear these shirts or else I look like I'm pregnant!

I have a big problem with this and I am a 36B-C (depending on brand). All my button up blouses gap in this area or they won't even button. I am not large in that area. But I am broad shouldered so that might be the issue. If I found a blouse that fits across the bust area, it is way too wide in the torso/rib area.

I'm the same size and have this problem as well. If I go to a bigger size, so that I won't be flashing everyone, then it's too big everywhere else. :headache: My mom just altered several tops for me because of this; took in the shoulders, the sleeves, the back, the waist and hips.:headache: By the time she was done with them, they were totally different garments.

I'm fortunate that my mom can do this for me. I love how Stacy and Clinton (from What Not to Wear) always say that clothes can be altered. Well, duh! The problem is that between the cost of the garment and the cost of the alterations, you are paying more than the clothes are worth.

Can I join in the clothes griping? I have a large chest, so button downs never fit without gapping, or else it will cover my chest but be huge everywhere else. Or those tops that have a line for where the bust is supposed to be, I can never wear because the line that is supposed to go under the bust is somewhere up way too high and just looks ridiculous. And those tunicy-empire waists, I look pregnant in them. Don't even get me started on bathing suits. I have a large chest, but a small rib cage, so if the cups fit, the band is too big. Lately, I've had to buy expensive bathing suits because they will be sold in cup sizes and fit better.

The other issue I have is the neck of my shirts. It always seems like one side or the other is hanging down my shoulder and my bra strap is hanging out. Uggghh. I think my problem is most of my weight is in my stomach, butt and hips, so I need to buy shirts bigger to fit over my middle, but then the top of the shirts is too big.

And what about Disney shirts? An XXL is too tight in the stomach area, and they don't have much of a selection in XXXL. That's when it really bothers me.

Maybe I should quit the *****in' and hit the treadmill. :rotfl:

Congrats on the weight loss!:yay:

I lost 65-70 pounds a while ago and while I was going down in sizes I got a lot of my clothes at the consignment stores and thrift stores. Especially great since I was hoping not to stay in that size long and didn't want to spend a ton of money and then get rid of soon.

While we're talking bra sizes, I went to a Hanes outlet and asked for a fitting. She fitted me at a much larger bra size than I've been wearing, but I thought, what the heck I'll give it a try. :confused3

All the bras she kept bringing me were huge! I was drowning in the cups (and I'm not small). I kept telling her they were a couple of sizes too big, but she insisted it was just a matter of finding the right style. She absolutely refused to bring me the smaller size I've been wearing, so I walked out with nothing.

:headache:

I have had this same problem every time and in every store I have had a bra fitting. And no matter how many times I say "that's too big", the sales clerk says, "just try this one". And, I have measured myself by the directions in a JC Penney's catalog and it still didn't work right! Very frustrating! Every bra I own is a different size!

I have the same issue of large breasts and narrow ribcage, and as I lose weight, it seems to be getting worse. I'm losing back fat (good!), but nothing from my girls.

I hate when I buy two pairs of jeans from the same company in the same size and one is smaller then the other! What's up with that? I am with you on the sleeve issue, I feel self conscious about my arms and it is really hard to find a shirt with normal short sleeves, I usually have to buy a cardigan to cover my arms in basic colors.

OMG - The Gap is the WORST for that. I have 2 pairs of size 8 jeans from them - one is now huge on me, and the other one is tight (but getting loser). They are the same cut, just different back pocket design.

I have a problem finding shorts. They are either so short they barely cover my bum or way to long. It is quite annoying!

And the shorts that fit in the waist has the crotch hanging down to your knees!

Imagine being 5'2 and having a 46 inch bust. Finding a shirt that fits across the ****age means the neckline sits at the shoulders.

And I hate that the shirts aren't long enough--Being a big girl means I don't want shirts to end at the top of my hips,I want it long enough to cover my actual stomache which after kids means it sits lower than on most people
