We are staying at All Star Sports resort June 7-12.

We will be driving back to SC that day and I wanted to fit T-Rex in for lunch before we head home. I got a reservation for 11 am on Jun 12 when they open. I know check-out is at 11 am, but can we still take the Disney bus from All Star Sports to Downtown Disney and back to get there, if we have checked out?

I did 5-day park hopper passes for June 7-11 if that matters. I hope not.

We've done something just like this before. I don't see why you can't.

Yes, you can use the busses. They don't check ID's or anything. Also, if you have a car onsite, your resort parking pass will be good for the whole day that you check out. We don't normally depart for home until after dinner on our check out date. Enjoy your trip!

Yes, you can. You can check out and check your bags with bell services and then go enjoy your lunch and ride the bus back to the resort.

First of all anyone can use the buses, but all your resort privileges, pool, DP credits, parking pass, even room charging are good until 11:59 that night.

Okay great. I didn't know if we were scanning passes to get on the bus or anything. (We haven't been to Disneyworld since Sept 2000.)

I didn't want to bother driving to Downtown Disney, I think that would be more of a hassle. Y'all are so great and fast on this board! Thanks!

Well driving to DTD has the least hassle of any of the parks except the water parks.

There are no gates, and if spots are available, you can park as close as you need to where you are going.

I recommend you drive to DTD. That early in the day DTD isn't a "hot spot" so buses won't be arrive as often as those hauling everyone to the parks. The ones that do come will also stop at Typhoon Lagoon. I've always hated the bus ride to DTD the most. The ride just always seems to take forever and then it seems to take forever again to catch a bus to get back. If I had a car I'd drive for sure.

You can absolutely use the busses - but as a PP said, it's very easy to drive and park at Downtown Disney. If this is your departure day, I'd recommend doing just that.

Note that I'm a "throw away the keys and let Disney drive" kind of guy during the trip, but the bus ride to Downtown Disney is a hassle, anyway - driving on your last day makes so much sense. :)

Wow, I'm glad I asked. Thanks for the tips. :cool2: I was envisioning a parking nightmare but if it's that much easier, we'll plan to drive instead. Thanks!

Definitely don't be afraid to drive around WDW. The signage is great making it easy to find where you're going. We really prefer driving over the bus where ever we are headed, gives me more control and I'm able to keep to my schedule.

Good luck and have fun!!

Agree that driving to DTD for an a.m. restaurant reservation is OK. Parking won't be a hassle. And T-Rex is right at the parking lot edge. This is how our group ended our trip last fall -- a meal at DTD. Afterwards, I just drove off home.

Aww shucks, thanks :)

Sure can't wait to get to Disney. It's just been too long and DD (3) is going to have a blast. I can't believe how much I've already learned in just a couple days of reading this forum!

Anyone can ride any bus at any time. :)

They're not a hotel perk. They're public transportation that is free for everyone.

I am afriad I must disagree.........DWD transportation is not open to anyone.....only registered resort guests or people going to the parks or other disney venues....water parks, dining, etc.

True, they don't often check, but now and then they do check.......over the years we have been asked for resort ID a few times and others on the blogs have stated they have been asked as well.

Please check the disney rules...its all written there.

OK flame away, but the facts are facts., wether they check often or not, is not the point!

Please link us to the Disney site that states that busses are for the exclusive use of hotel guests. Or name the info packet in which you found this.

I'll happily check. :)

The bolded text above supports the statement that WDW transportation is for everyone who is on property and needs to get somewhere. Which is everyone.

Based on your statement, please list someone who is not allowed to ride. The only people I can think of are maybe people who just get on the bus and then just ride around and doesn't get off. Then I'm sure some loitering issue comes into play.

Oh and if you post the text from the WDW website that says something like hotel guests get complementary transportation to/from the parks, its doesn't use any words like "only" or "exclusive".

Guests of Disney's Resorts (meaning anyone who has stepped foot on Disney property to shop, dine, sightsee) can use the transportation. It is not required to be a registered guest, have a theme park ticket, have an ADR or anything else).

Actually, as I understand it, until about 3am - Extra Magic Hours can run that late!

If charging privileges are different, I can't speak to that as it is my preference not to put anything on a room charge after I get my nice little checkout folio.
