I reserved online using the Alamo Insiders Code and an Alamo coupon?

It's the AD2359FDF coupon.

Do you need to go to the desk? Is there a way to avoid this? Can I check in online and just go to the garage? I love National for the skip the counter aisle service but their price is over a hundred dollars more that Alamo.

Thanks for your advice!:)

Your confirmation will hold the answer to that. It will either give you the choice to "save time" or "check-in online." If it only gives you the option to save time you would still need to go to the desk or kiosk. Usually a coupon eliminates being able to check-in online. Not sure if an Alamo coupon will do that or not.

Yes you can use the kiosk. I filled out the info online before we left (follow the Save Time link in your confirmation email), went the kiosk and straight out to the garage in May. I used the same code combo as you, and am doing it again in 3 weeks.

So just to clarify.. you can't fully check in online and go straight to the garage but you can use Save Time and go to the kiosk. No desk. It was easy. There was a huge line at the desk and 3 open kiosks. We went right to the kiosk and were pulling out of the garage 10 minutes later.

Many thanks for the clarification! I truly appreciate the helpful responses. I have 'save time' on my ressie so I will use that link and go to the kiosk!:goodvibes

Great info on this thread :thumbsup2 . I have just learned something useful for our upcoming trip!

We stood in that long Alamo line on our New Years visit :crazy2: . You can be sure we will use the "save time" option later this month.

Well, drat ..... it appears I am still destined for the counter ..... .

I am using the AMEX corp discount code plus a coupon code. The ressie also has our Alamo Insiders number attached to it.

I called Alamo prior to using the AMEX code to determine if we still qualify for the free additional driver through our Insiders membership. They confirmed that yes, that is correct :thumbsup2 .

I just tried to use the "save time" option and add my DL info as the extra driver. It shows a charge of $10 per day. There doesn't seem to be a way to add the extra driver without also adding the charge......so we will have to have them work their magic at the counter on pick up.

Not a big deal, but still. Was so hoping to use the kiosk this trip, when our plane doesn't land until early evening. Crap!

Look at your final total and make sure it is actually charging you for the additional driver. On my confirmation it listed additional driver at $9.99/day in one section and additional driver included in a different section. The driver charge was not reflected in the total amount and I was able to use the kiosk with no problems and no extra charges.

Yup, my final total did change......from $115 taxes included to almost $200 :crazy2: . It was definitely charging me for that extra driver.

Do what you can to avoid the line, I'd give up the use of a coupon to miss this.

That line at the counter was an easy hour deep, the Kiosk took less than 5 minutes.

I just wanted to confirm - I used my Alamo Insiders ID and the AA coupon code for $35 off. The website won't allow me to check-in online, but I did click on the "Save Time" link and verfied all of my info.

The confirmation says to proceed to the counter to pick up my rental agreement and keys - but then on page 2, it talks about the kiosk.

I can just go to the kiosk to swipe my credit card and get my rental agreement, right? It will be just me and the kids when we arrive, so I want to make sure we don't have to stand in line at the desk. I have always checked in at the kiosk in the past, but can't remember if my confirmations always tried to direct me to the counter.

Thanks for any help!
