I bought an e-gift card second hand and want to know if I can use it at the ticket booth. Called Disneyland and they said I could, but curious if anyone has ever done this?

It is not a physical gift card and no bar code or anything. Just an account number and pin.

I want to pay down one of our passes. Has anyone ever been able to do this?

I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to.

My only concern is the "second hand" part. I would be concerned that there would be no value on it.

I checked the value and bought it through an online gift card retailer. I just didn't do the legwork to figure out if I could use it or not because I got so excited about the 12.5% off!

Are you sure that it is a Disney gift card and not a DisneyStore .com merchandise gift card? You cannot use a DisneyStore merchandise GC at the parks and I don't know of any Disney GCs (which CAN be used in the parks) that are in electronic form.

Pretty sure it is just a Disney Gift Card. I checked the balance on a disneygiftcard.com and the value is there. I don't know where you buy them originally but the second hand sites have them from time to time and they sell in minutes if there is a decent discount.

I had a "merchandise" GC from Disney that I was able to view on the gift card app but it was only usable at Disney Store and other merchandise locations. I could not use it for restaurants, tickets or room reservations. Usually those highly discounted GCs are not usable for theme park tickets. The ones that can be used at the parks are only discounted 1%-2% on those reseller websites.

Out of curiosity, which website did you make your purchase from?

I have a Disney ecard from Raise and mine said that it could only be used online. It does work, it is a Disney card etc. I used it for a room deposit with no problem. If you got it from Raise (and they seem to be the only ones that have great deals on Disney cards) check with the site. Mine said it in my account page and the checkout page - not in the actual print out.

Was just thinking - you can buy DLR tickets online through Disney and they sometimes have discounts for DLR. That way you don't have to worry about the card. You just print the tickets at home :)

Yes, I got it from Raise, too. It works online, but I don't need any more passes or hotel stays, right now. I am going to see if I can use it at the ticket booth, next week to pay down pass balances. When I called, she said it just had to cover the entire payoff amount for a pass and it will cover it on my son's pass. We will see if it works in person. If not I suppose I can save it to renew passes next year...
