I am a Disney Visa Card holder and I was just wondering... Can I use my Disney Visa to just pay for my deposit, or do I have to use it when I pay for the rest of the package as well? Thanks for your help!

I was told only for deposit. I have a high % cash back AE I'm going to use to pay for the rest of my package!

I made my ressie today. When making the deposit, the CM asked for the number on my DISNEY Visa for the $200 payment. I asked if I could pay off the balance with my Disney reward points and she said absolutely....So it surely didn't haven't any restrictions on it when it came to paying the balance.

I was told that only the deposit has to made on the Disney Visa.

I was tld this morning that I only had to put the deposit on and could pay the rest in full any way that I would like!

I asked this question as well. Reservation CM transferred me to Guest Services, she said the entire trip had to be paid on the Disney Visa.

I'm going to call back tomorrow and ask for clarification.

I made ressies on sat or sun when she gave me the total and said she was going to charge that amount I asked her if she could just do the deposit and she said she could do that but i would have to call back by the 4th to put the remainder on the visa so i just had her do the whole thing. It is 0% apr for 6 months anyway. Good luck.

The CM was mistaken - only the deposit was due now. The remainder is due at 45 days. Then you have 6 months 0% apr from the date you pay off the balance.

I did my deposit on the Disney Visa but do plan to put the rest on it so I can get the reward points. Everytime I have some money to put on it im gonna call Disney do a charge on the visa then send the $$ to the visa. This way nothing stays on the visa and I get the points. I'm even thinking about starting to do my groceries on the Disney Visa for the next 6 months so I can have even more reward points for this trip!

So do i have 6 months 0%apr from right now?

Yes, since the entire amount was charged, you have 6 months 0% apr on the entire amount, from the day it was charged.

It's still a good deal. :)

When I booked I was unsure if I needed to pay the whole trip in full upfront to get the 0% or if I could put the deposit on then pay the balance later (all on the Visa) and still get the 0%. I asked the reservation agent booking me, but she didn't know and suggested I call my card services. I went ahead and only put down the deposit, thinking if worst came to worst, after talking to the visa people I could just call and cancel my original ressie and redo one with the full amount on my card at once. The women I spoke with at visa cardmember services said that the deposit would get the 0% immediately and then when I put down the balance it would get 0% starting from the day I pay that.

This will work for us anyway because I would like to have the points from the trip on my rewards card for our trip. This way the trip is paid for and I can start fresh for christmas gifts when we get back. We are saving $650 so the deal is awesome. I cant wait we havn't been since 2003. Oh by the way I forgot that they automatically added on trip insurance and the cm didnt mention it but can you have it taken off if you have already paid for the trip? I think I know the answer but worth a try. Does anyone keep the trip insurance? Have fun on your trips everyone :wizard:

I've never dealt with the insurance, but you can make changes to your reservation as long as it's more than 45 days in advance.

I would call & ask. :)

This is what I am doing. I had a zero balance on my Disney Visa card because the interest rate is the highest. I want to make sure I have it paid off in 6 months, I don't want to have a balance left with their rates. I inquired about a lower rate, and they won't budge! :furious:

So I assumed the 6 mo./ 0% clock started ticking when I put down the deposit, is that right? :hourglass

HolliePoppins- Yes, I learned here on the boards that Disney automatically adds trip ins. to packages. I didn't want it, so I called and had it removed. It was $120.

Just wondering... why do so many people choose not to get the insurance?

I dropped the insurance. If I had booked my air with Disney, I would have kept it.
