Can I use bar soap to make body wash?

I've got some bars of Disney soap, but we use body wash. Can I grate them down and make body wash or liquid soap with them? Does anyone have instructions ?

This looks pretty easy - basically you boil water and add the grated soap bar (1 gallon to 1 four oz bar) mix it and let it sit, mixing it every so often until it gets thick.
