My girls and I have AP’s. We went in Sept during free dining and had to purchase 1-day base tickets (1 adult, 2 child tickets). We are going in Feb for the 7 for 4 deal. Again, we had to purchase 1-day base tickets to get the deal. This time, my DS needs a ticket. He turned 3 in October. So that’s 1 adult, 3 child tickets. Total, I will have 2 adult and 5 child tickets. I’d like to use all the tickets for my DS. One for every day we are there. The one down side is no parkhopping. I don’t know when we’ll be back again to use the extra tickets. :sad1: Can I do this?

1) The CM at the turnstile are to catch the ticket error.
2) Adult tickets are not supposed to be used for children admission.

I'm sure the ticket gurus will chime in, but I'm wondering if it would be possible to apply the single base tix (one? some? all?) towards the child's tix/hopper for the total number of days you need? :confused3

I would go to a ticket window and ask. You are asking for a higher value ticket to be used for a lower value, and I would be surprised if there wasn't something you could work out. It's not as if you are asking the opposite--to use it for a higher value!

If the person at the window says no, ask to talk to a manager and keep asking until you get the result you want. I would be shocked if you couldn't get them to work with you on this one. It's a no-brainer for Disney to offer you something less for more!

I don't know if you would be able to use the tickets that way or not, but even if you can it doesn't make any financial sense. Adult one day tickets are worth $75 and child one day tickets are worth $63, so together you have $465 worth of tickets. The ticket you need, a 7 day child's ticket is only $193, so you would be losing $272 to use those one day tickets for your child every day.

On the other hand, you could upgrade one of the child tickets to a seven day ticket for $130 (or upgrade one of the one day adult tickets to a seven day child ticket for $118) and save the other tickets. They'll never expire, so even if you don't come back for several years you will still be able to use them later.

i'm not really sure what the foul here would be. using a child ticket for an adult, problem. paying more to use an adult ticket for a child, not a problem. so long as the ticket is exclusively used by that child.

but this is the glitch which I don't believe anyone above has mentioned:

child tickets do not require finger scans whereas adults do. even if it's just 1 day (consider re-entry).

what you may want to do is use that adult ticket the first day and explain to the CM your situation. the CM can override the scan (but also make sure the CM does so in a way that FASTPASS will work as there are many ways to override the ticket, but not all of them are desirable)

I realize it's more expensive to do it this way when looking at the cost of each ticket. But if I can use all of the tickets I have, I pay no money. If I upgrade, I have to pay $130.

I totally agree. Take it as far as you can and keep bugging them if they tell you that you can't. :thumbsup2

We did it this past spring. We had 2 adult 1 day tickets-we asked at GS if we could use them for children. They said no problem. Walked over to the turnstiles and stuck them in.

If she is going to be 3 yrs old, why not just say she is under 3. I dont think the CM at the turnstile will ask for proof of age. My friends have done it before with their 3 yr old with no problem. ºOº

Um... because that's against the rules and stealing?

I definitely would NOT sneak in my 3 year old!

I don't want to get into a big debate about sneaking in a 3-year-old. We've been enough times that our TA knows my kid's ages.

Thanks for everyone's responses!

Rules??? Oh you mean "policy" Well just ask to see those said "policies" and they wont (can't) produce them. I had them tell me I wasn't allowed to pass out CiCi's coupons because it was against Disney's "policy". Well I asked to see said policy and they didn't produce it so I walked away and went right on (and still do) pass out the coupons. Oh and parking lot is suppose to open at 7:30??? (a "rule I believe?) Well I'm in the lot at 6:00am and security says nothing to me. ºOº
