Since Southwest now owns Airtran, can I cancel my SW flight and use the credit to book an Airtran flight? Airtran has a later flight (8:45pm compared to 7:10pm) on the day we come home, and we'd like to max our park time ;). However, I've already booked SW and would have to cancel. We don't plan on taking another flight within the next year, so I'd lose that $$ if I can't transfer it....

HI. I called SW and asked the same question about a week ago. I was told not yet and they don't know when it will happen for sure. She said the SW employees were still not allowed to use their benefits to book AirTran. She said they are being told 2012 but doesn't know when in 2012.

I wish we could too! AT is at our local airport and usually has bad flight times, but they added some additional flight times that would work this time around. We have enough SW points to fly free though, so we going to drive the 1.5 to the bigger airport with SW.

Thanks for the answer :thumbsup2 Not what I was hoping for, but good to know!
