My cousin daughter has college internship. Can she apply her discount to our room?.....And then can I get the free dining plan? I know Disney does not stack discount but wondered in this circumstance.....

I've never heard of anyone getting free dining with a CM discount. The stipulation for free dining is a full price room and the purchase of minimum tickets in a package.

Check into her discount though. I've used the cast member friend/family discount and was also able to get a deeply discounted price on the dining plan as well. Better deal than free dining, and no ticket purchase requirements. Although, the discounted dining plan is not always offered on the family/friends discount so you have to check.

You can't combine discounts like you are thinking. However, like a PP also mentioned, cast members do also get a discount on the dining plan. My sister did the college program as well - she and I just went to visit her roommate from the program who stayed on with Disney. We had a deeply discounted room and a deeply discounted dining plan. Her cast member friend did stay in the room with us though. The discounts are typically higher if the cast member is also staying in the room and not just booking the room for you. Though they are still able to book discounted rooms for you without actually staying with you.

The way she understands it is I book my room. She visits my resort within the week previous that I am coming and then the discount is applied live in person then. Is this right?
Thnk you for the bit on the dining plan. I will consider all options to get best discount

Unless something has changed in the last few weeks, she must book the room. Just like with any special room rate there are only a certain number of rooms available for cast discounts. We had to go with our second choice of resorts because our first choice had no cast discount rooms left. But she is correct that she needs to go to the resort at some point to show her cast ID. I was not the cast member so I don't know all of the details, but any cast member stay we have had has had to have been booked by them.

If a room is booked under F&F the CM has to show up at that resort's front desk within ten days of date of arrival to have the ID Card linked to the reservation. With F&F there is a mildly discounted rate available for dining, and tickets are not necessary.

If the CM is staying in the room the CM has to check in. This will normally give a deeper discount than F&F. And the basic DDP has a larger discount.

"Free" dining is not available with any Cast discounted room rate.

Her semester starts mid August. My trip is September. Obviously I won't wait til mid august to book a september visit. Can she book for me now since she was accepted into the program or does she have to wait til she is active. May be I should book and have her apply discount when she gets down there?

No I don't think you can get the discount until she has started working. When she gets her CM ID, she'll get a special ID number, her perner, that she'll need to make any kind of reservation. The "perner" is basically her identity and its something that she'll use for EVERYTHING.

ChesireFigment, i have a different kind of question, when the CP stays in the room he/she may become the 3rd adult in the room do they add the $25 for deluxe then give the discount or give the discount then add the extra adult fee?, thanks

Book something now if you want to be insured you have an offsite room and then cancel that when she is able to check the Hub and see what is available. It's not like she can have the discount applied - it's what is available when she goes to book. I can't think of one week in September where you will have trouble getting a room AND I will say I have gone many times in September and depending on the week the CM discount (with her in your room) is often VERY good then.

When we just stayed with a CP there were 3 of us and I am almost positive we were charged the full price for the 3rd person.
