Can I Upgrade When I Check In?

Going to the French Quarter Nov. 9-19th for my 50th birthday. I thought maybe I could upgrade to a deluxe resort when I arrive but in just looking there appears to be NO availability at any deluxe resorts!
Could they seriously be completely booked??? I don't want to get my hopes up if there's nothing available. And when I look on the website it shows nothing available.:

You can always check up until you leave and then again while you're checking in. But don't get your hopes up. There's lots going on the weekend of Nov 10th. You may be able to find some deluxe availability starting around the 12th or so.

Happy Birthday!! Veterans Day weekend is a SUPER CRAZY PACKED weekend at WDW! It is the last weekend of the Food and Wine Festival, there is a half Marathon going on, The Children's Hospital Classic, Jersey Week and the first weekend of the Osbourne Lights!

We have been severals time and always try and book as soon as possible but sometimes do not get our preferred resort.

That weekend you arrive has been reportedly booked for a few weeks now. There is a lot going on at WDW plus it's the holiday weekend. If you are willing to do a split-stay, you might be able to upgrade after the 12th or so.

I cancelled the Poly today at 2:00 for 11/11 & 11/12.

If you see any availability come up before your trip, I'd jump on it. If you wait till you check in, there'll almost certainly be nothing left.

I would check with agencies such as Magical Vacations as they sometimes have exclusives so they block out rooms (not to mention great rates).

You might be able to upgrade and not even pay more!!

With Jersey Week pretty much cancelled unless people still don't have power, there may be cancellations.

I was wondering what would happen with the Jersey Week crowd. Such a bummer!

If you ask to upgrade resort, they will send you to the nearest house phone and have you call reservations from there. They don't have any resort magic they can pull the day of. The deluxes may have last minute no-shows, but they won't know that until, I believe, 24 hours after scheduled check-in. Just keep searching and call again the morning you leave home.

I would also call reservations, because there has been times they had openings that did not show on the website.

If you wait till arrival you'll most likely be quoted a rack rate if there is any availability. I'd keep watching the web site or phoning. People do cancel.
