Can I upgrade to hopper tickets in the app?

If so, I am an idiot who cannot figure out how to do it. I see where to upgrade to an annual pass, but I really don't want to do that until the last day of our trip. However, I would like to upgrade our single-park tickets to hoppers. I purchased the single-park tickets in the app originally.

I did search the interwebs, and Disney's website provides these helpful instructions:

"Disneyland Resort theme park tickets may be upgraded by following these simple steps via the Disneyland app or by visiting any Main Entrance ticket booth:
  • One-day tickets – link your ticket to your account and upgrade by midnight on the day of your visit to the Disneyland Resort.
  • Multi-day tickets – upgrade on or before the last valid day of your ticket."
Help?

I don’t think that is available in the app. I would guess you need to visit the ticket booths outside the parks.

Will you be arriving the day before you start your park days? If so, try to visit the booths the night before your first park day. The lines can be much shorter then, making it easier to take care of your upgrade.

Thank you! At least I'm not an idiot, lol.

We have 5-day tickets, but will really only have four park days. Our first day we won't arrive until about 2:30 and I haven't planned much for that day. We will stop at City Hall to get a First Visit button for The Boy, then tour main street and the castle before taking the monorail to DLH for Goofy's Dinner. Basically, I want to get all the leisurely "look at that's!" taken care of so that we can hightail it to Fantasyland for EMH the next day. Maybe we can stop at the booths on our way back from dinner and then we would be ready to go for Day 2!

Don’t go to City Hall for the button. They have buttons everywhere, including the stores. City Hall is backed up for a ton of other things that can only happen at City Hall.

Excellent, thank you! We will just ask around as we look through the stores.

Just know that if you upgrade your tickets, you will pay to upgrade all the days, not just the remaining days. So why not upgrade at the start so that you can explore both parks at your leisure on day one? And you can get the buttons, as pp have noted, at City Hall, Chamber of Commerce, WOD (in DTD), most shops (ask at the registers), some CMs (look for those who have large pockets), etc.

Oh rats! is this for sure? If you have only 2 days left on a 5 day ticket, they charge you the full amount to upgrade for just those 2 days?

When we were there, there was a cart out in front of city hall that had all the buttons and sharpies available. Didn't even have to go in City Hall!
They had sharpies available? Like just regular sharpies, or have they been disneyfied in some way?

Just regular Sharpies (and they aren't always there in the cart -- sometimes you have to wait to go inside to see a CM for this) -- unless being touched by a CM makes them magical! So if your son has a passion for a specific color Sharpie, bring that with you. :)

That’s okay. Realistically, we aren’t going to have time for park hopping on Day 1. Due to our flight arrival time, I estimate we will enter the park sometime around 2:30, and I’m hoping for Goofy’s Dinner reservations at 5:30. My main goal for Day 1 is to get a snack, see Main Street and the Castle, and take the monorail to DLH. If we get on a ride or two, that’s a bonus. At the very end of our trip, we are planning to upgrade to the Flex Pass, so no matter how we structure it on the front end, we will be paying a total of $700 per person (or whatever the price is then) on our way out the door 😉

Incidentally, is there a reliable location on Main Street to get popcorn? The Boy will definitely want popcorn.

Reliable = what? Always there? There is a popcorn cart in Town Square across from City Hall and a popcorn cart at the Hub at the end of Main Street. Both are reliable -- just pick the one with the shorter line!

Yay! Yes, I was thinking of something we can count on being there, as opposed to a mobile seller. Thanks!

Regular sharpies...

But now that you question it, it's possible they were just my sharpies...I always carry them with me. But no, I swear they had some out for people to write with.

It makes sense, I just never really thought about it. I want to get some of that photo matting that is made for signatures and bring a red sharpie. Then when we get home I can frame a picture of The Boy with a character for him to keep in his room 😊
