Can I upgrade room only to MYW at check-in?

If I book a room at the AP rate can I upgrade to a MYW package at check-in even if I loose my AP rate for the room? If there is a MYW package code for the dates I am there, can I apply it when I change from AP room rate to MYW package?

I know this sounds confusing, but I am trying to avoid paying the package balance 45 days out. I want to use AMEX prepaid lodging cards that I have that will cover our entire package cost, BUT it can be used at check-in only. You can not use them to pre-pay. Dilemma!

I figured I could hold my room at the POP by paying the room only deposit and then when I get there upgrade to the MYW package w/dining and (hopefully) use the general public code that is getting ready to come out. Then I would be able to use the AMEX prepaid cards. Any thoughts?

I think the MYW with Dining has to be added at least 2 -6days in advance.

I just basically asked the same question in another post. I need to know the same thing for a PIN for almost the same reasons!!! Great minds.....

I called the BW front desk and the POP front desk and they both couldn't really answer my question. When the BW transferred me to central ressie, the CM told me that I could charge the full package balance to a credit card and then when I arrive, have the front desk charge my alternate card (or the prepaid lodging cards, and refund the credit card used originally. He acted like it was not a problem and that they have people do it all the time. But since the front desk CM told me either no they couldn't or they had no idea let me transfer you, it makes me a little nervous to try this.
I also realized when you make a payment to Disney before arrive, it is charged to your card. It isn't just a "pending transaction" or hold. With the AMEX lodging card you can't use it to "hold" a room, but I think I could use it to pay for ressie ahead of time.
This is all so hard, but like they say there are no true free rides. It is going to take some work on my part.
