Can I upgrade my AP to a PAP?

Not sure if this is the right board for this question but...... Just back from a wonderful Christmas trip where we purchased AP's. Now we are already thinking about returning this spring or early summer and wish we had bought PAP's so we could get in the waterparks too. Is there any way to upgrade or to apply what we just paid towards the cost of PAP's?

You can do this. It will be handled just like any other pass upgrade. There was a time that you could upgrade your AP to a PAP simply by paying the prorated difference on the remaining time of your AP. (Example: a $120 cost difference translates to $12 per month. If you had 3 months to run on your AP it would have cost you $36 to upgrade to a PAP that would expire when your old AP did.) But there have been reports that Disney will no longer pro-rate an AP for this. If you want to upgrade an AP to a PAP now you will be charged the entire price difference ($120 in the example) for whatever time you have remaining on the AP.

I thought I remembered reading that before but just couldn't remember where- I even checked on Deb's sight before I posted my question but couldn't find it! Now I am wondering if any of you have actually done this before with no problems?

It can be done quite easily. Just go to any Guest Relations location at the parks or DTD and they will set you up with a PAP. You will be charged the full price difference between the AP and PAP.
