Can I upgrade a one day ticket that we will use Dec 23?

We are planning to go to the MK on Dec 23. The one day ticket is of course during the premium time so will be more expensive. Can I purchase it and then upgrade to a normal DVC annual gold pass or do I still have to do the premium to use it for the one day getting into MK on Dec 23? I may have to purchase a 2 day. We will not be going to the parks any other day during the holiday as we are moving over to a Marriott and doing Discovery Cove and Sea World etc. We will be back at WDW in June. Thanks for any info !

You will be able to upgrade to the gold. Just do it prior to exiting the park.

Remember that annual pass will then have a start date for Dec 23, not a June date.

It would be less money to buy a multiday ticket from UCT or Park savers, use the one day for the 'black out' period then upgrade to the Gold AP when you leave. Stop at Guest Relation before you exit. Just be sure you WILL buy at AP before you leave or you will have unusable days on the multiday ticket.
