Can I upgrade a 1 day Park Hopper

My friend and I arrive at Disneyland on Tuesday. We are staying Tuesday through Monday and would like to go in the parks Tuesday through Sunday. The problem, no 6 day hoppers. I was wondering if we bought a 1 day hopper for Tuesday and then upgraded at the end of the night to a 5 day park hopper if that would even work? Or would the 5 day hopper only be good till Saturday. Confused can someone help me out?

Unfortunately when you upgrade to a 5 day PH'r it will include the present day - even near the end of the day.
I don't know why they don't offer discounts for adding extra days..

Your proposal doesn't make any sense. You would be able to upgrade, but I thought it was supposed to be done before the last day of a ticket was used. You could always buy one

I took a 4-day PH and upgraded it before I entered the gate for my 4th day. Basically they count any day previously used.

Depending on the time of year, you might be getting to the point where it might make more sense to get an annual passport.
