Can I upgrade a 1 day basic MYW ticket to an AP?

Uh, oh! Saw vague mention on another thread that someone had difficulty (or wasn't allowed) upgrading their 1 day basic ticket (booked with package) to an AP ! This is exactly what I had planned on doing on my first day - for both myself and DGrD. Has anyone been able to do this (or not)? If not, what was the issue/problem?

I don't see why not, you'd just have to take it to a Guest Relations location.

However, I may be a little outdated on the ticketing rules. Hopefully GoldenOldie will chime in.

We just upgraded our MYW tickets to AP's in September with no problem. There was a problem doing this during free dining because you "had to have a ticket to get the free dining package". So, we waited to the end of the week after all dining credits were gone and upgraded at the Epcot guest relations.

I had a one day ticket during the free dining. Went to Epcot and they couldn't upgrade it to an AP until after all dining credits were used. I just upgraded to a 5 day, then on the last day at AK upgraded that to an AP.

Thanks everyone - I don't have free dining, but I did add and pay for DDP on the package - I wonder if that would make any difference?
