I've flown into and taken the Magical express many times while flying Southwest Airlines, but we will be flying Frontier Airlines this trip and they are not listed on Participating Airlines. Can I still take the Magical Express to our Disney Resort? How?

I know we will probably have to pick up our own bags at Baggage claim.

You can take the magical express and you can have your luggage picked up by Disney if you use the yellow tags. The participating airline only deals with the resort airline check in. If you are staying at disney you can use the magical express and luggage delivery. You just can not check your luggage to return to the airport from the resort. You would take it on the bus back to the airport. You may also have to get your boarding passes at the airport.

So upon arriving we won't have to pick up our bags and bring them on the Magical express ourselves? On the way back to the Airport won't be that bad.

Yes - as long as your flying into Orlando International (vs Sanford) you are fine.
In fact there isn't even a requirement that you fly to use DME!

Just complete the online form with your flight information or call DME directly and make your reservation.

There is a sticky thread above explaining participating airlines but in short this only applies to checking your bags and getting boarding passes at the resort for the return trip vs doing this at the airport.

That's great!! Flying Frontier will save us $600 compared to SW airlines, even with the added check in bag cost, I've check prices on all Airlines and Frontier is best. More money to spend at WDW!!

Good for you - my dd flew Frontier in December, Philadelphia to Orlando and had no issues and it was $59 (one way) !!

Okay....you've really got to believe me on this....I truly do know what I'm talking about!!! Anyone, as long as they have an existing DME reservation, can ride the DME to, and from, their WDW owned resort!!! Everyone!!! The airline you arrive on, and depart on, makes no difference. 'Participating' airline matters only with RAC (Resort Airline Check-in) if you want to check your bags and get your boarding passes on your departure day. Other than that, it's not an issue.

The only times you would have to get your own luggage, upon arrival, would be if for some reason you didn't tag your bags with your yellow luggage tags when leaving home. Or, if you arrive at MCO after 10pm, prior to 5am. Some people like to get their own bags...so they don't tag their bags. That's their choice. Or if you arrive after, say, 6pm, and don't want to wait until close to 11pm to get the bags in your room. But, again, that's your choice. As long as you arrive between the hours of 5am-10pm, and have tagged your bags with your yellow DME luggage tags, before leaving home, you will be able to have the bags 'magically' appear in your resort room, up to 4 hrs after resort check-in.

Yes, you absolutely can and no you don't have to pick up your bags at baggage claim as long as you get the yellow tickets in the mail and attach them to your luggage. What flight you come in on doesn't matter and yes I have flown Frontier to Orlando and used DME. Just did it last week in fact.

Like others have said you just can't check in for your flight at the resort and you'll have to bring your bags with you to check them in at the airport when you return. That's the only place where the airline you use effects you.

The only baggage issue is if you're landing between 10pm and 5am. If you're landing during those times then you have to get your own bags. But otherwise, unless you are landing nearly that late and don't want your bags delivered at 1am, they'll take your bags for you.

Thanks so much everybody! I just purchased our Airfare tonight with Frontier for $262.00 RT pp Non-Stop Flight, which includes all of the extras that they charge for, picking seats, Check in bags. Southwest was going to be $400.00 RT. Now I won't have to worry about the Magical Express, since my questions were answered.

I'm going to a WDW for a conference at the end of the month, staying at Coronado Springs. At the end of the conference, I'm staying on a couple of nights but have to switch to Hilton Bonnet Creek because CS didn't have availability, plus I'm meeting up with family. Can I still use DME to get back to the airport if I go back to CS to pick it up? Or because I will have already checked out of the resort will I need to make other arrangements? And if I can't use it to go back, I'm assuming I can still take it when I arrive.

You cannot take it back to the airport. You can take it coming in though.

We are entitled to a trip from and a trip to the airport at some point between the day of check in and the day of check out. Not earlier or later, alas.

We flew Frontier in February. I went down to the desk at the All Star Sports and they printed out our boarding passes for us so we did not have to do that at the airport. Evidently if you download their app, your boarding pass will show on it. You do have to take your own luggage to DME upon checkout and check it in yourself at MCO. It was our first time flying with them and we were pleased. Just bring your own drinks or snacks if you want any for the plane ride. They do offer drinks and snacks for purchase. I think water was free.
