Can I switch resorts?

So, I'm booked Jan 27th-Feb 5th at CSR with free dining, and there are a LOT of conventions that week.

If I wanted to switch to POR, would they let me keep the free dining?

What if I wanted to upgrade to a deluxe?

That probably depends on if those resorts are included in the deal. Give it a try, worst thing that can happen is they say no.

Whether it's POR or a deluxe it depends on if there are still rooms available for that promotion. Call and ask. :)

FWIW, there are always a lot of conventions in DW and we've never felt impacted by them. We were at one of the Epcot resorts last October during the week of a huge IT conference, numerous smaller ones and a PGA golf tournament and it wasn't a problem.

I think I'll just change my room request and ask for a quiet room near a bus stop in the Ranchos. We can walk a bit to the dig site, it's no problem.

We were in Rachos 7 last year and it was close to the dig site, not too much of a walk at all.

There was a large online education convention at CSR last time we stayed there. It actually made the resort better for us. The only time we saw any of them was one night on the bus and there were only like 6 of them and one late afternoon in Pepper Market. We had a room in Cabana 9A which was great because ot was as far from the conventioners as possible, right near bus stop 4 and the dig site, and not a bad walk to the main building. Don't let the convention discourage you it might make the stay better.

Yes, if there is availability under free dining at the resort you want to switch to, you can change resorts. With that said, since the free dining promo has expired, guest services will have to check availability and make the change, but it can be done :).

I have been there during a convention and did not even notice. If anything, he buses are not as busy because those poor people are working. I would not let it bother you.

As others have said, as long as their is availablity for that promo at another resort you can switch.

However, conventions shouldn't be too big of a deterrent! We stayed at CSR and there were several going on, had I not been a disboarder I would have never even known it was a convention resort. The only thing I noticed was how uncrowded the busses were, probably because a lot of the guests were in their meetings.

We were in Ranchos, we loved that location, it was very convenient.

Even though POR is my favorite resort, CSR is also wonderful and the convention thing is not something I worry about. It is still a very family friendly, tourist friendly resort. YOu can't go wrong in my book!

THIS exactly. I have been there with big conventions and never really noticed it. Those "poor" peeps were all stuck in workshops and keynote speaker luncheons, while the pool and buses were empty. Though I am sure a few of them took off their nametags and skipped out early from their conferences to join the commoners (without their employers knowing. Can ya blame them? hehe)

It's actually a nice little perk about staying at CSR.
